Hello. The screws are either on the bottom, the part that hits the floor, or under the rubber bumper. Find the screws, remove them and remove the base or cover to expose the belt area.
your savvy bagless has a geared belt. remove the bottom plate and then remove the 2 back screws near the back wheels to remove the top cover also peel off the hoover decal to access the top cover screw. this will expose all components to replace the belt.
on this model there will also be 2 more screws at the top near the back on each side. the hood will come off. there will also be a cover over the roller, remove this with 3 screws, this will expose the area of the belt.
Generic problem for all Vacuums How to change the belt How to change the belt on a Hoover High Performance upright vacuum cleaner I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Most of the Hoover upright vacuums service from the bottom and to start remove the bottom plate, that should expose the belt – if this is the case, some Hoover’s might be self propelled, if not the self-propelled vacs have 2 belts and the non self propelled models have one belt – so remove the belt(s) and then lift up on the brushroll and slide the belt onto the belt pulley then take a screwdriver tool with a hook on the end and stretch the belt onto the motor shaft – once this has been done the track the belt(s) and it should straighten out and run straight, re-install the bottom plate, plug in and test. If you cannot get @ the belt from the bottom the look for 2 or 3 screws – remove the screws and the top cover will lift off and then follow the procedure mentioned above… Questions? Please feel free to contact your local vacuum dealer in your area or in the yellow pages or contact the Hoover factory for more details. http://www.hoover.comTelephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST
There are two screws on the top side just behind the Brush housing. Remove these two screws, one on each side, and the top plate can be removed. Then you can follow the directions above. Hope that helps.
Generic problem for all Vacuums How do you take apart? How do you take apart a Hoover brush n wash to replace the belt? I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. On a Hoover brushroll there are 2 types, wood and metal, and the metal can be washed with water and the wood should only be wiped off, knowing the name brand of the vacuum most of the vacuums the belt change is done by removing the bottom plate and exposing the belt, 1st hook the new belt around the brushroll and then use a screwdriver or similar with a bent hook on the end and then pull or hook the belt on to the motor pulley and then track the belt to make sure the belt stays on, then re-install the bottom plate and turn the vacuum on to test to see id the belt was installed correctly. The other is to look for 2 or 4 screws on the bottom and then remove the top cover and follow the instruction listed above without the bottom plate. A belt change should be done every 4 to 6 months on regular basics and to keep the belts in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. http://www.hoover.comTelephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST
Eureka Model #4475 need to get access to the belt on my Eureka model 4475 I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
There may be 2 different ways to get to the belt, I checked the Eureka website and I believe you have to remove the bottom plate and the brushroll and belt are exposed and you would hook the belt on the brushroll 1st and then use a screwdriver with a bent hook and then you can pull the belt onto the pulley, once the belt is on the pulley then you can track the belt by rolling it on the brushroll & belt pulley --- the other way is that there are 2 screws on the bottom of the of the vacuum – remove the screws and then the top cover should lift off the vacuum to expose the belt – then follow the same procedure ads listed above.
