To unprotect images:

- Turn on camera
- Press on PLAY BACK button (wherein you are viewing pictures)
- Press MENU button once
- Scroll to the right until you PROTECT menu tab
- Scroll down to SELECT or ALL PICS
- Highlight ALL PICS
- Press MENU button
* It will be displaying pictures and another submenu
telling you to UNLOCK or LOCK pictures
- Use your zoom switch to change the submenu to UNLOCK
- Once you've seen UNLOCK
- Press MENU button so pictures will be released/unlocked

Those are the steps on how to UNPROTECT pictures
on your A503.

If you'll be having questions, feel free to post it here.

Hope i will be helping you now on these.

How to unlock the protected picture

Simply select the same pictures, one at a time and lick on protection function or select all protected pictures and hit on the protection function. Tip. Its like you select a function one and exit, it remains selected so the function works, if you select a second time, the function is un-checked.

Windows photo gallery

Check if the pictures are not "damaged" on the memory card. Check if you did not protect the pictures. Most camera's have this button or menu setting, placing a little key logo in the picture, telling you it is protected from deleting and copying.
No brand, no model, I can't go for more details.

Deleting protected pictures

"Protecting Photographs from Deletion

In full-frame, zoom, and thumbnail playback, the button can be used to protect photographs

from accidental deletion. Protected files can not be deleted using the button or

the Delete option in the playback menu, and have DOS "read-only" status when viewed on

a Windows computer. Note that protected files will be deleted when the memory card is

I was doing some adjustments yesterday and today I can't delete the pictures from the camera. When I hit the trash button a cancel sign comes up on the button of the viewfinder and the picture won't...

Hi,

Looks liek the pictures have been protected.

What you need to do to resolve this is please get the picture on the display and press the ISO key to unprotect it. You will notice that a small key icon is there, which is go away.

Once all the pictures have been unprotected, you may delete them.

If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.

I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this solution.
Thank you.

Pictures were protected for a temporary photo shoot now I would like to have them unprotected to delete. How does one go about deleting pictures from a Nikon D60?

To unprotect a picture, while viewing the picture press the protect button (marked with a key) to the right of the viewfinder. To delete the picture, press the delete button (marked with a trashcan) below the multiselector.
