My footpod won't turn on either. Changed battery but no luck.

I am having the SAME problem with my footpod. I initially thought it must be that the battery was low due to it being the "original" battery from factory. I changed battery and got it to pair...but only one time...now it won't again. Really irritating me!

My footpod just suddenly died as well while on an important walk without warning. Very frustrating!
I am hoping replacing the battery will help, but I have just managed to pair it again and its giving me a very erratic reading. Crossing fingers that the battery will help, otherwise I'll be back. Again, disappointing that the battery needs to be changed 1 month after I received it!

After working fine for about three months, my Garmin 50 wouldn't pair with my footpod one morning. I figured it must be the battery on the footpod as it was still working with the heart rate monitor. I bought a new battery, but that didn't do the trick. I just think it quit working.

For me it stopped sudddenly during a run. Very annoying. When I open the battery box and press the battery the red light turns on. Could the battery be the wrong size? Hardly! The manufacturer (Garmin) must have an explanation and a remedy.

My footpod worked for about a month and then when I uploaded my data to Garmin connect it lost the "pair" and I have reset the watch several times and still cannot get the pairing to work.  I changed the battery and the light still lights up on the footpod, but the watch will not recognize it.

I had the same issue and spoke with Garmin UK about it. They have sent me a new footpod without any questions asked although I must admit I wish I would have purchased the 405. I've replaced the batteries 3 times and I also keep losing signal during a run. Very poor, not to mention the size of the footpod in comparison to the nike plus system.

SOURCE: Can`t pair Garmin Forerunner 50 with footpod

Hi,

I've been having the same problem. I couldn't pair my footpod, but my heart rate monitor was working. I've only had the 50 for about eight weeks.

I reset the watch, holding view mode and Start/Stop at the same time.
This didn't do any good.

I swapped the battery in the HRM with that in the foot pod. The foot pod synched the HRM didn't.

Solution duff battery. I'd change yours it will probably do the trick.

Hope it helps

SOURCE: Garmin won't recognize footpod

As your Forerunner 50 first time was syncronized with your husbands footpod, now it is linked to him and that's why it can't find yours. You may even have to reinstall software, but I'm not sure. Try this link and you may find wht you are looking for:

Just bought a new FR60 and it can't detect the footpod. Should I replace the footpod battery?

Do it. Btw the planet Garmin is the closest planet outside our solar system. If you have doubts about the way to go about it, don't it. Let a professional do it.

Garmin fr60 footpod

Read this BEFORE you buy a new Garmin footpod because of non-detection issues after replacing batttery.

My battery died and after changing it with a new one I've not been able to detect the footpod with my 910xt until now. I notice that in the cap or lid of the footpod where the battery sits before closing it sits a white piece with contacts for the battery. I had inadvertently taken this out when replacing the battery, which is fine BUT you have to put it back in a certain position. If you look very closely at the cap where the battery sits you will notice there are tiny grooves where the contacts should sit into. As soon as I line these up with the white contact piece, voila! Footpod was immediately detected. Try it if you are having issues after replacing a new battery.

I bought a Forerunner 50 with HRM and Footpod. Initially the footpod wouldn't work, but HRM would. So changed the battery and footpod is fine. However, HRM now won't work. Just replaced the battery in that...

I had a similar problem. First my hrm worked and the footpod did not. Then I tried to pair manually (for the umpeenth time) when the hrm was too far away, and I lost that pairing, and it still didn't find my footpod. Then I wet the hrm sensors and tried pairing again and then it picked it up. Finally, I switched batteries in the hrm and footpod and then it picked up the footpod. Now I'm headed to the store to stock up on batteries. Kinda upsetting that I have to buy batteries when I just got the thing, but probably costs less than the postage for sending it back!
