I get the error 009-361 error on my dell 3110cn

Error came up between 2 printing sessions. Reseated Magenta cartridge and also followed the steps here : http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/18111151.aspx

The new magenta cartridge you put in is bad. If you put the old one back in then you get the low toner message. Take the new cartridge back and get another new one.  I found the answer on the dell troubleshoot website

Hit the options button (just under the digital display on the printer) (and between the two arrows) 10 times. The hit the +arrow once to change. Go through the change motions again and you should get a new ink read.

Open the printer using the button on the side top right. You will see two gray things with arrows going left and right. move them both two where you can take out the piece it is hold in. Pull out the large piece and put it back in. Close the two gray things to lock it back into place. Close the printer and restart it. It should fix your issue. It must of became loose at one point when I was moving so I fiddled with it and turns out that was the issue. It works great now!!

Hey guys. Dont assume i know alot about printers, because i dont, but after some looking around the loading tray i found the problem. At the right side of the loading tray, more towards the back, are 3 white plastic things that sorta stick out, however one of them on mine seemed broken and didnt stick out, these devices seemed to be attached to some sort of lever, anyways... i just stuck a compressed lump of foil underneath it to make sure it did stick out, not exactly the best of solutions but it worked for me :) . If you flip the printer upsidedown you can notice to which parts the white deivices correspond too. i hope this helps someone, and that it wasnt too confusing :P.

This error message indicates that the printer has failed to read information from the chip on the black printer cartridge.


This is either.

1. Black cartridge not fully pushed into place (I've been called out to a couple like this)

2. Faulty chip on the black cartridge - effectively not responding to the printer 'talking' to it.

3. Fault on the main board of the printer.



Solution

1. Push the cartridge fully home.


2,3. If you have an old black cartridge, try that. The message should change to Replace Toner, if it does, its the chip on the cartridge, if it doesn't its the printer.

SOURCE: We have an error message CRUM 009-367 and we are

009-367:The Yellow (Y) Toner Cartridge CRUM Data error is detected.

  1. Cycle power on the Printer.
    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. Wait 10 seconds.
    3. Turn the printer on.
    4. Determine if the issue still occurs.

  2. Verify that the toner installed is Dell toner

  1. Cycle power on the printer again.

  2. If the error persists, replace the desired toner cartridge.
    • If the desired toner cartridge has already been replaced, replace the Toner Dispenser CRUM.
    • If the Toner Dispenser CRUM has already been replaced, replace the Printer.

This code means "An error occurred with the magenta print cartridge drive motor during startup orrotation."
I recommend the following steps.
1. Check that connectors J5003 on the magenta print-cartridge drive motor and J207 on the driver PCA are seated correctly.
2. Replace the magenta print-cartridge drive motor.
3. Replace the driver PCA. 186

Please try the steps provided below.

Step Action 1
Power off the printer/MFP and open the toner access door. Reseat all of the toner cartridges. Power on the printer/MFP again and print a test page.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to Step 2.
No: The error is resolved. 2
Power off the printer/MFP and remove the developer unit for the color specified in the error message, and then reseat it. Power on the printer/MFP again and print a test page.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to Step 3.
No: The error is resolved. 3
It is possible that specified color's toner cartridge and developer unit are defective. If you have a replacement toner cartridge and developer, install them as a test and print a trial page.
Did the error message return?Yes: Continue to Contacting Lexmark.
No: The error is resolved. If the toner and/or developer were not near the end of their working life.

Won't print. says no magenta cartridge installed. replaced w/oem magenta. still says no cartridge installed.


It seems simple enough, but this is one of the most effective ways of fixing printer cartridge error. Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached.

To reattach the cartridge check the following steps :

turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head.

Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report.

Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

The most obvious thing would be to double check to make sure your ink cartridges are inserted correctly

Cartridges Not Engaged message on screen after replacing yellow cartridge. Had Disabled the old cartridge before replacing in order to keep printing. HELP


The 10.92.YY CARTRIDGES NOT ENGAGED error has 2 digits represented by the YY. These indicate the cartridge that has the issue and are:

00 Black
01 Cyan
02 Magenta
03 Yellow

Steps to follow in sequence and test after each one is completed are:

  1. Open and then close the front door.

  1. If the message persists, make sure all the print cartridges are seated correctly.

  1. Clean the contacts on the memory controller PCA.

  1. Make sure that connectors J302, J303, J304, and J305 on the memory controller PCA are seated correctly. Also make sure that connector J1020 on the DC controller is seated correctly.

  1. Replace the memory-controller PCA if it is damaged.

  1. Check the gears on the print-cartridge drive motors. Replace defective motors.

  1. Replace the DC controller.

I had a like problem and found that the chip on the cartridge was mounted without enough spacer such that contact was not being made with the memory controller PCB connector.  I cut some two-sided tape and put it behind the chip such that it stuck out further so that better contact could be made and the problem was solved.

Hi,
If you turned the machine off and replaced the cartridge, you can get this error.

Could you try the following procedure below please to clear the error, thanks.
  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Open the top cover to access the print cartridges.
  3. Remove the new cartridge that is causing the message.
  4. Reinsert the cartridge and close the cover. The following message will appear on the front panel: "Press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge."
  5. Press the 1 on the numeric keypad of the HP product.
If the message, press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge, "does not appear after removing and reinstalling the new cartridge, and the low ink warning message still displays,

follow the steps below:
  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Open the top cover to access the ink cartridges.
  3. After the cartridges stop moving, unplug the power cord.
  4. Remove both cartridges and close the top cover.
  5. Plug the power back in. The unit will reinitialize and a message will appear to insert the cartridges.
  6. Open the top cover and reinsert the ink cartridges. Close the top cover. The message,
  7. Press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge," should appear.

Use the following procedure to troubleshoot Error Codes 009-910 through 009-913 
1. Check the installation of the Print Cartridge. 2. Clear the Tech Rep Fault for errors 009-910 through 009-913 (see instructions below). 3. Try changing the indicated Print Cartridge. 4. Check for an open wire or poor contact between the Print Cartridge and the Engine Control Board. a. Yellow, J-151 to J-405 b. Magenta, J-152 to J-405 c. Cyan, J-153 to J-405 d. Black, J-154 to J-405 5. Replace the engine control board
NOTE:  Before troubleshooting for an open circuit (Step 4) or replacing the Engine Control Board (Step 5), clear the Tech Rep Fault for any of these codes first using the following steps: 1. Enter Service Diagnostics. 2. Highlight NVRAM Access and press OK. 3. Highlight Clear Tech Rep Faults and press OK. 4. Highlight link codes 009-910 through 009-913 and press OK.
