When was the last time using your internet connection wirelessly? If this is the first time you will use your wireless internet. You may need to check it with your internet service provider or you may check it with your wireless modem (router) manufacturer.
Using wireless internet connection, you will need to configure the settings in the wireless modem (router). you will need to get an admin password and username.
If you were able to connect to the internet wirelessly, check if you wireless icon (WIFI) on your laptop is on.
Just check your tools>internet options>security and make sure the site isnt blocked.
Also check your virus control/security under internet security and settings and make sure it isnt blocked there. That is what it sounds like to me. If you can get everything else, it looks like yahoo has gotten blocked from you.
sounds like the internet connection is not setup to Ur modem. When u unplug it redetects the modem and connects. try uninstalling the modem from the control panel - system - device manager. keep the modem connected and reboot. U may have to use control panel - add/remove programs any programs the modem cd installed. on reboot use the modem cd only to get the driver and let windows control the modem.
