Water will not drain out of dishwasher

Have an older model Maytag JetClean dishwasher. Was in this house 5 years ago when I moved in. Cannot find where the model # is on it. Was working perfectly fine and then the next load of dishes I washed, the water will not drain out of dishwasher. Have tried several cycles where it is supposed to drain out water, but still is not draining at all.

I would remove the drainhose from sink and try draining in to a pale.if it does not then you will need to remove drain hose and clean out. Also you may need to clean out all screens in pump just remove with torx screwdriver easy when you get into it

My older model Maytag Jetclean doesn't clean.

The white residue may be lime from the water coming into the house (and, obviously the machine). Run some COLD water into a large clear glass pitcher and let it stand overnight. If there is lime it should settle overnight to the bottom of the pitcher. If no residew, get some commercial dishwasher cleaner and run the machine full hot and on all cycles at least 3 times to thoroughly clean it out...Good luck!

Maytag MDB3700AWE bottom wash arm does not move Freely by hand

Yes, the wash arm should spin freely. Recommend that you remove the arms and search for what is stopping it.
In addition to hard water, the ultra-cheap dishwasher powder really does/can leave calcium-like deposits behind. Use brand name powder for 30 days and you will see a difference. Never use gel or tablets in any dishwasher.
Adding a whole-house water softener would eliminate 90 % of your problem. The other 10% will be taken care of by not buying ultra generic powder.

Soap dispenser doesn't open

My recommendation is to switch over to a tablet and merely put the tablet on the floor of the dishwasher bypassing the soap holder all together. It should work just fine that way. good luck.

Knob wont turn - have to turn it manually!!!

Emsie, the model number posted has a electronic control so Im not sure where we are going with this. A couple of things to check. Some models have what they call a foam guard routine. This can cause the machine to stop several times during wash because of oversudsing. (too much soap). You want to make sure the water temp going is is at least 120 to 150 degrees. The heater will only raise the water temp 1 degree every 4 or 5 minutes. This can cause long cycles. You might have a bad timer. If you remove the toe panel there should be a tech sheet attached to it. This will give you good information on your dishwasher back.
