Try updating the drivers in your system Also check with Aspire to see if there are any BIOS updates you need to install. To update drivers do not use ANY driver update software, instead download them from Aspire and install one at a time.
Hi, "first," restart the computer, and click on the "Start Button," in the (right pane) select to open the Computer. Check to see if there's a DVD RW Drive (D:) in the "Device: with (Removable Storage) area." If the area is (Blank)? Go to and select All Programs, scroll to find the Media Disk Player. You may need to Setup / Install the player, and "Update the Drivers," when the (install is completed) follow all the instructions. "Remember to always click on the Apply and OK buttons after making the changes, and lastly, restart the computer." "If the problem still exist, try going to the "Device Manager" from the Control Panel, [Roll-back, and or Update Drivers, restart the computer. Next, in a final attempt to fix the problem go back to the (Control Panel), and select from the "Update Options' "Let me Choose... To update the drivers Manually" this will in stall the "original" (Drivers) that came with the computer. "Rating the solution for its helpfulness is appreciated, thanks."
Try updating the audio driver, go my computer and right click, choose properties, go to device manager, click the "+" on sound, video and game controllers and right click on audio device and update driver. It takes a few minutes so be patient. If it does not find an updated driver unistall the driver and reinstall it, then reboot the computer.post me back if you still get problems.
It is Better do this : Instead of Updating the drivers, roll back the driver first and unintall the Hardware Totally from your system through the device manager. Next, restart your system, and then it prompts for 'New Hardware Found', use the Finger Printer Driver That you have, to re-install it afresh, if you dont have you can download it from here : http://www.getpcmemory.com/drivers/download-acer-aspire-5738-5738g-5738z-notebook-windows-xp-drivers/
After that, restart your system again. It should work like that now.
hello hope this helps, you need to update it and you cant download msn because "Aspire One" models arn't windows vista or any other version of windows. You need to keep pressing live update on your download on the settings found in the bottom right hand corner. it will eather come up with a box saying nothing has been found, if so just press retry. or on the other hand a box will come up stating ALL of the updates you can have. these are called "patches" just press accept and it will take about 5-10 minutes to download. then the messenger that is built in will work so no need for windows live. hope this was good help to get your "aspire one" working
Press your home blue button, go onto settings in the right handside bottom corner. Then select live update. As its the first update it might take up to two days to load. After that you will be able to use messenger :)
