IPhone Frozen inside ipod player

I was listening to some music in the iPod and I decided to fast forward a song closer to the ending using the manual fast forward bar. When I did this the iPhone froze up. The music is not playing, I cannot exit the iPod screen back to the main screen & the screen has not shut down as it usually does when you don't touch it after a few seconds.

Also I tried to call the phone to see if that would release it, but the phone rings and goes to the answering machine; however the actual phone did not ring. This is really a pisser being that these phone are supposedly the top of the line. Anyone else have this occur?
