My dell latitude D830 display colors have faded. As an example; Red appears as light rose to pink and colors are no longer vibrant.Started 4 days ago. Yesterday, Dell replaced mother board but, there is no change. There appears to be an abundance of white light, more than normal coming from the screen..Even when displayed through a Sony Brava LCD TV there is no difference between pink and red when shown directly next to each other in Outlook 2007 Calendar, they display Exactly the same on both devices, TV and Laptop..All other colors are also faded, washed out, or light diluted.
Note* Several days ago I got a shock when I touched the laptop ?

Any Help Appreciated, Richard [3/12/09]

I would check your graphics card control panel. You may have (or someone else) set the contrast or some other setting to low or high. If you are using nvidia you can run the optimization wizard.

Probably. Look for a replacement battery on eBay. I have threee d600s and about a year ago I bought aftermarket batteries on eBay that work fine for about 1/3 the cost of a genuine Dell.

How to apply color to start menu and taskbar in windows vista

These little things can drive you crazy...so let's go...Right click in an open area of your desktop-at the bottom of the box that opened- click on Properties then- Appearance tab- under Windows and Buttons- select -Windows Classic style. Now in the -Color scheme- select Rose or whatever color you like...then click on Apply and then OK.
I think you are missing the Apply and then OK.... this will do it for you, Enjoy your world of Roses..bye
