Question about Epson Stylus Photo R1800 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My yellow ink head on my r1800 printer is clogged.

My yellow ink head on my r1800 Epson printer is clogged and I can't unclogg it. This seems to be a yellow ink problem as I has three really inexpensive epson printers 280s and the dsame thing happened. With them it was just cheaper to buy a new printer than fix the problem. I have used only Epson ink in this printer and no off brands. The warranty is not voided by using the wrong ink.
Any suggestions

If it is within warranty then contact epson support. If not and normal head cleaning doesnt work then try a print head cleaning solution such as:

Hope this helps.

I have an Epson NX400 printer but the yellow and black ink test pages are showing gaps and missing lines. I replaced both ink cartidges twice and did the head cleaning and nozzle check but nothing seems to...

Try to print something that is pure yellow and pure black. Set it to BEST PHOTO. If you see gaps or missing lines, your print head could be clogged. You will need to use a cleaning solution to remove the clog.

Rebuild Epson R1800?

You could run head cleaning from the driver a few times and see if the nozzles start to clear out. If you send it in for repair they run a solution through it that is supposed to clean it out. If the solution doesn't work the head is like a $400 part.

R1800 printing way too green/yellow

I have the same problem. Your printer head is clogged. You can use the head cleaning utility within Epson. However, if that doesn't work, you may need to use a head cleaning solution.

Cyan will not print

Try replacing the cartridge. Sometimes they do get clogged and won't clear no matter how many cleaning cycles you run.

Unused printer

Hi, the print heads are clogged up usually caused by leaving a ink cartridge in the printer when not using it, ie over time, but epson have this problem alot.
you could try this http://www.supermediastore.com/cleaning-cartridge.html
ie if head cleaning dont work,,

this should fix it, otherwise its $48 + vat was the cheapest i found for new print heads or £75 for epson to fix it.
i would replace printer ie if cartridge dont work,,

Happy New Year
