Sir
u dont need to buy a new one. You can download file shredder from here . do following things :

  1. download and install file shredder
  2. shred all the files which are in pendrive(after shredding u will not be able to recover them)
  3. then try to format it .,

Hello, after experiencing the similar windows unable to complete the format error problems recently with my 16GB flash drive, I learned there were several methods to resolve such drive issues:
1). Check this USB drive is write protected or password protected. If it is, go remove the password protection or write protection at first.
2). Format it in Disk Management again
But, if it is not, merely go try to perform a format on your drive in Disk Management of your PC.
3). Use flash drive formatting software.
Or if that also does not work, just go download a flash drive formatting program to have a try.
Go read more related Windows unable to complete the format error issues here:
Hope these words also help.

To solve the problem use HP USB DISK STORAGE FORMAT TOOL V2.1.8. You can find it at http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197. Do not format your 32GB Kingston PenDrive with NTFS file system since it does not function. Use FAT32 instead.

First, your Windows XP must be either SP2 or SP3, and then you must add a patch to it. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955704/en-us that is KB955794 for the patch
