Mostly a phone is not locked to a single provider but to a group of providers. My Vodafone phone would work ok on O2 and t mobile but not Orange so I had no trouble using Asda mobile until they changed their provider from Voda to EE. In my case, it wasn't possible to unlock my phone economically and I needed a new phone to stay with Asda.
I suggest you get a sim from your provider of choice and try it in your phone. It might work and might not. If it doesn't your new provider might be able to supply an unlock code or alternatively your local phone doctor will typically charge around £10 to unlock it for you.
I'm assuming your both on the same network? If your both tmobile customers or AT&T it should work without problems.
If not. The phone needs to be unlocked. to be used with another sim card from a different company. And to do that. Your friend can call his carrier he bought the phone from, request an unlock code, then unlock it that way, and you'll be able to use it just fine.
Only if your on either Tmobile or AT&T. No other sim cards will work.
just call your customer care center ask them to send the gprs settings to your mobile ,when you receive it ,save it as your default internet setting.
it will work fine .
rate if it was helpfull !!
We did the same thing. We could not send but still could receive. We tried entering numbers, codes and many other options. We took the battery and sim card out for 10 - 15 seconds and re-installed them. Restarted the phone and now it works fine again. Sort of like rebooting your computer. Hope it works for you. Good luck!!
