The dish is always connected to the receiver and then the receiver is connected to the TV. Then you have to call Direct TV to have the receiver authorized to receive programming. Or, call them in the beginning and let them do everything.
Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. The 61.5 Satellite carries mostly High Definition programming. If your Satellite Dish is an older model, it is not equipped to bring that Satellite in. It is the part on the Dish called the LNBF (the eyes) that will pick up the satellites. Your receiver is a Standard Definition, you should be reading the 119 & 100 Satellites.
