it sounds like your carb is out of adjustment and you need to adjust it. Look at the carb on your weedwacker, there is an idle adjustment screw somewhere on it and using either phillips or strait screw head and then carefully turning it clockwise go 1/8 of a turn at a time until the engine idles smoothly.

The high speed needle valve needs adjusting and it takes a special splined tool to adjust it. I currently am trying to find where I can purchase the tool to adjust the high and low carburator screws.

Factory H+L neadle setting fo ryobi blwr/vac#ry08554/ry09907

Many small carburator needles have plastic caps on them to limit how far they can be adjusted. If you need to go past their limited settings you'll have to break those caps off if you have them. Turn both the L and H needles in just to where they seat, not tight, then turn them out one full turn. Start the blower and let it warm up to operating temperature. With the motor idling, if necessary turn the L needle in or out to where it is idling smoothly. Turn it in until you notice the idle speed change or it starts running rough. Now turn it out, counting the turns, until you go past smooth idle and get to where it gets rough again. Turn it back in halfway and you're good on the L idle needle. For the H needle, hold the throttle at 3/4 full throttle and do the same thing to adjust the needle to half way between the rough running points.

Tune a ryobi two stroke motor

Turn Both Air Mixture Screws In Until Seated. **DO NOT JAM SNUG ONLY** Turn Both Screws Out 1 1/2 Turns. Set the Throttle to Full Open and Start the Engine. Override the Throttle by Pushing the Governor Arm by Hand and Turn the High Air Mixture Screw(bottom of the bowl) In Until the Engine is Revving Properly. Now Slow Engine to Idle. Set the Low Air Mixture Screw so there is No Hesitation when Throttling from Idle to Full Throttle. Now Set the Idle if Required.
