GE (Rheem) SmartShield Water Heater. it rained on the hot water heater and now the pilot won't light. Any ideas?

Does it have an electric ignition? If so, remove the pilot light access panel, blow inside the chamber with a hair dryer. Do this until there is no more moisture inside. Then follow the lighting instructions. Try this even if it's a match start. Thanks and please rate.

I have a Rheem 120810BD hot water system and BCC won't pass the house cerification unless the hot water is a 4 star rating. Can anyone tell me if the system is 4 star rating? K

1) Call Rheem. I don't know the number outside the US.
1-800-432-8373
2) Contact local plumbing supply and ask who sells the Rheem unit. Then call that dealer and inquire about rating.

We have a 2011 Keystone Sprinter 311 BHS camper that we bought last year; it has a 6 gallon gas and electric DSI auto ignition water heater, It won't stay on. When we first turn it on, you can hear...

Are you getting any hot water from taps? If not, check by-pass valve on back for proper positioning. You want cold going in bottom fitting open, as well as hot coming from top fitting open too. Any valves etc., in between should be closed. Let me know what happens please.

Exactly wher eis the ele element located on an Atwood 6 gal Mod 6-E (LP & Ele)? Do you have to remove the entire water heater to replace the element? .Thanks...Richard.

There should be access from inside RV to get to the back of water heater. Make sure you have the hydro breaker shut off. On the back there is a cover where hydro wires etc, go in to. That cover has to be removed to give you access to element. Once cover is off, you should see element down low. You may want to test for voltage at element, then check switch ( on side or top of cover) and reset at ECO, (push in on little reset in center of ECO ) just in case one of them was the problem, and save changing the element. Then carefully test for voltage at element terminals. If voltage there and not getting hot replace element.

Water doesn't flow from the hot side. Was really cold last night. Is there a way to get it to flow?

Hi,
Yes... the water pipe is probably frozen... take a hair dryer and focus the heat on the piping...moving it back and forth along the piping to thaw it out...

Water takes a long time to get hot

is it electric or gas?????? If it is electric the thermostat sould be going bad or is bad,, If it is gas there could be a few diffrent things gas valve, or thermostat which would also be in the gas valve.. But I will assume it is ele., check the elements and the thermostat there is only one thermostat it would be on the upper element

Electric hot water heater is not working

MORE THAN LIKELY THE TOP ELEMENT BURNED OUT REPLACE IT , IF IT WERE THE BOTTOM ELE YOU WOULD STILL HAVE SOME H/W, THIS IS IF YOU ARE SURE YOU HAVE POWER TO UNIT CHECK THAT FIRST IF POWER WAS ON WHEN THE REPAIR WAS BEING DONE THE ELEMENT WAS DRY AND BURNED OUT
