Question about Allied Telesyn Networking Hubs & Switches
I have set a password, and cannot now remember it - How can I recover this?

To reset the switch configuration, follow theses steps:
1. Connect to the switch via console
2. Reboot the switch
3. As the switch is booting, press enter to access the boot menu
4. Choose: 2. Erase Flash File
5. You'll be asked to enter the flash file name, the file will be 'config'
6. Exit from the boot menu and let the switch boot as normal
You should now be able to login with the default username and password( UN: manager PWD: friend)
To connect a terminal to the device Console port, perform the following: 1. Connect a cable to the terminal running VT100 terminal emulation software. 2. Ensure that the terminal emulation software is set as follows: a) Select the appropriate port to connect to the device. b) Set the data rate to 115,200 baud. c) Set the data format to 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity. d) Set flow control to none. e) Under Properties, select VT100 for Emulation mode. f) Select Terminal keys for Function, Arrow, and Ctrl keys. Ensure that the setting is for Terminal keys (not Windows keys)
