Bootable disk for XP Professional.
The Windows XP start up disk allows computers without a bootable CD-ROM to perform a new installation of the operating system.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Can i remove a pirate copy of windows 7 and replace it with my genuine copy of windows xp

Hello,
you would need to insert to XP disc in the cd drive and reboot the pc. As the pc reboot whatch for "Press any key to boot from disk". This will make the pc bypass the hard drive and load the boot file from the XP disk. Once you have answered the inital start questions, it will give the option to format the hard drive or create an extended drive. If Win 7 is not needed any more, I strongly suggest doing the format and have a fresh, new install of XP, Genuine copy.

Good luck.

Safe mode exit

Just reboot normally and do not select SafeMode. You need to configure the boot order in the BIOS to make Boot from CD-Drive the first option. save the changes and then exit the BIOS. Insert the installation disk and reboot.

My Windows XP professional cannot be shut-down. How to shut-down without harm to my system or loss of data ??

Hello,

Hard rebooting once *shouldn't* affect your data. But it's a good idea to check for a problem with the disk.

Open a command prompt by clicking Start->Run and typing in the box cmd
Click OK
In the black box, type chkdsk /r and hit Enter
It should tell you that a reboot is required. Restart (any method that you can). The system will boot up and begin checking for disk errors and automatically repairing them. When it's complete it will boot into Windows normally.

The only other solution other than rebooting is to remove the cable from the usb port and reinsert it. Sometimes the computer will recognize the drive and it will work properly.
