Re: I have a software that is not compatible with vista
Try running in compatibility mode - right click and select properties, then click on the compatibility tab. Check the box at the top that says 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' and make sure XP is selected in the dropdown. Click 'OK' and try again to run it.

I looked for the specs on the software but could not find the system requirements. You might want to call Oracle and ask if the software is compatible with your Operating Sysytem (Vista, Windows 7). The phone number is 1-800-423-0245
While I was unable to find the official system requirements for Primavera's P3, from the few article I read on it, I don't believe that it is Vista or Windows 7 compatible. Also it is not really a 32 bit 64 bit issue, 64 bit systems run 32 bit software all the time, in fact there are many more 32 bit programs running on 64 bit systems than 64 bit software, due largely to the fact that the software companies are are just now starting to program 64 bit software. This is an Operating System compatibility issue. If you absolutely have to run P3, you might consider installing XP as an additional OS on your HDD with duel booting and running P3 in XP.Hope this helps
You can either get Broderbund Print Shop Deluxe 2.0 which is Win7 compatible or use a virtual/dual boot computer with WinXP. (The Vista compatible version was Print Shop 23; so you are dealing with some significant changes in the OS. Thus the compatibility mode probably won't work. You can try right clicking on the installer and choose Properties and the Compatibility Tab. Check Run as Compatible with XP then right click on the installer again and choose Run as Administrator. Then do the Compatiblity mode again with the actual program.)
With Win7 Pro and Ultimate, you have an option to download and run XP mode which takes two programs that you download from Microsoft and install. This lets you run a virtual XP computer inside the Win7 computer for free. All other virtual computer programs or dual boot systems require a licensed version of XP.
You said that it is an older version?Right? and it will only run for windows 97/98. The tendency of having an older version is the compatibility issue within the platform that will use to run by the software. Try to install the software, if it works for vista then there is no compatibility issue with it but if it doesn't work then you must obtain a newer copy of the software that will be compatible to run under windows vista environment. Please don't forget to rate me..:-) Thanks..
go to windows update and check for software update's,seam's you have a compatability issue with the earlier software, i know xp has a compatability program that lets you run programs in a earlier os formate to make the earlier programs run in the later OS'S Hope this works Steve
1: Try and run ACT in compatibility mode.
Install the program normally
Go to the Directory where Act runs, usually Program Files
Right click on the Act program
Click on the compatibility tab
Select Windows XP
Try and run the Program
2: This one will be a little bit tricker and I won't list out steps unless you really want to try this route. Create a Virtual Machine, or Virtual PC, depending on if you use VMWare, or Virtual PC.
QuickBooks Pro 2003 can run on Windows Vista. Right-click a shortcut to open Quickbooks (or qbw32.exe directly) and click on Properties. Select the Compatibility tab. Under Compatibility Mode, check the box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the list. Under privilege level, select "Run this program as an administrator." Select OK and everything will work.
