Question about Grilling

How to replace regulator/hose/valve assembly on char-broil gas grill?

The regulator is shot on my 6-year old Char-broil gas grill, model number 463422107. I ordered the replacement from Char-broil, which is the all-in-one regulator/hose/valve assembly. I have no clue how to easily install this! Do I have to take both side burners off to get to the control panel to remove it, and then do the install? Or, is there an easier way?

Follow the hose back to where it connects to the gas rail , and go from there , to see what has to come off if anything .

Cb-6000dlx-w char broil bbq. (4646166) I purchased this bbq around 8yrs ago and believe it or not I have just taken it out of the box! however there are no assembly instructions with it!!! I have tried...

Barry, short of contacting Char-broil Customer Support 1-866-239-6777, I doubt there is one available.I checked my list of over 100 Char-Broil models and it wasn't on it. In addition, you may need to replace the Hose/Regulator that came with that model, as it probably won't fit today's grill tanks. But, it's not a big deal. You can pick one up at any hardware store or home improvement center that sells grills and accessories. The run about $30.00.

Good luck in your search and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Yes, Susan, you will need to change the Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can probably pick one up at any store that sells gas grills and accessories. I suggest that you take your old one with you for comparison purposes., when you go to purchase one. In the USA, the assembly runs about $30.00.

I was looking for the manual for the Char Broil "charcoal" grill, not the gas grill...

Unfortunately, the model number you listed is for a gas grill. There is not Char-Broil Charcoal Grill, that comes even close to that model number. If may have been discontinued. In any event, contact Char-Broil Customer Service 866-239-6777. If there's a manual available, the will email it to you.

Sorry for the confusion, but I based everything on the Model Number you provided.

Here is a link to the Owners Manual for your model grill. It has the assembly instructions, so just reverse what they are and you'll be in business. As they say, "one picture is worth a thousand words."

Need to purchase replacement regulator/valve (one piece) for patio caddie grill??

If what you're looking for is the Regulator/Tank Hose Assembly, you can purchase that for any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills. They are pretty much a universal fii, but be sure to take your old one with you for comparison purposes of the hose length. A little longer is ok, but shorter is not.

If that's not what you're looking for, you can purchase replacement parts directly form Char-Broil.

Regulator Repeatedly Reduces The Gas Flow

The new regulators will automatically shut down or reduce flow if the it senses that the flow is too high (as in a line leak or break). It can also be folled if you open the valve too quickly. There is a special plastic plug that can reset a tripped valve in the new tanks. (Mosquito Magnet supplies one with their product).

The other thing is that there is a recall going on at Char Broil of defective thermometers that are reading too low.

Have a 2 year old char broil bbq, have to start it with a match as auto doesn't work. started it and came back out after 5 mintutes and it was off. replace with new propane and wasn't getting any gas flow....

More than likely, the valve at the barbeque is clogged. Sometimes spiders will plug the valve since they are drawn to the smell of the propane. You can either clean the valve or replace it.
