Question about Apple iPod nano 4th Generation
Trying to get my Sons Ipod Nano Gen 4 working again (xmas gift which lasted about a week!!!!) after it went for a little swim in a pool.
I didnt see it until about 6 weeks later when it got returned to me.
The Padlock Icon will not go away and so no buttons will work. It Charges up and connects to the computer normally and you can access the files through Itunes....I tried Resetting the whole thing ie uninstalled and reinstalled the software which wiped the whole thing but no still no response from the buttons or click wheel.
My first thought was to open the bugger right up and let it air out in case there was any moisture still trapped inside.
After removing the Top and Bottom plastic covers there were 2 screws in the top and 3 screws at the bottom which came out easy enough.
I was pretty happy at this point and fully expected all the gizzards - to neatly slide out onto my palm....
After a gentle push and prod it seemed nothing was going to easily slide anywhere so went online to see if anyone else had done the same thing.
And yes the boys over at Techrepublic had ventured forth, thrown caution to the wind and completely buggered up a perfecly good Ipod in the process.
Long story short they highly recommend not trying to open up your Ipod Nano 4th gen as it is not designed to come apart for servicing. The battery is glued to the case and the rest is connected via cable ribbon.
Does anyone have any ideas on how it might be repaired.
I had heard that Apple Warranty wont cover water damage.
What Is it like dealing with Apple regarding Warranty Claims.
Any Comments are welcolme.
