Not many cameras will use all formats in them no, but once your movie is on your hard-drive of the PC you can copy the film to any other media.

SOURCE: Japanese to English?
1.find a japanese person and ask him to do it for you
2.find an english manual and follow the same steps
3.find an online translator and try to translate the steps
(those are working if your camera support english language)

most of the nv-gs50 cannot support multi-language (i.e. the ones manu/bought in japan).
you may be able to find a firmware update, but i would not recommend it---i.e. you are stuck with japanese

Tips for a great answer:
May 12, 2008 | Video Cameras
Jan 18, 2014 | Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T70 Digital Camera
May 13, 2012 | Sony Handycam DCR-TRV22 Mini DV Digital...
Apr 07, 2011 | Sony Handycam HDR-CX560V Camcorder
Mar 15, 2011 | Cameras
Jan 19, 2011 | Sony Handycam HDR-XR520 High Definition...
My research shows that model is only for sale only in Asia, I looked into some similar USA released models and they did NOT have multiple language support so I am thinking that the DCR-TRV9 is only in Japanese.
Just out of curiosity are the markings on the camera body in English or in Japanese?
