SOURCE: How do I set the date on a canon RebelXSi so that

Being digital, most of the information like time, date, aperture, shutter and other EXIF data is already captured on the image file. You can find this information on the computer and even while viewing the image on the camera, thus negating the need to have date/time stamped on the image.

However, if you wish to print your photos with date/time on them, you can do so with the application that came with your camera, ZoomBrowser EX.

No date stamp on photos on Canon XTi camera

Most Canons don't seem to be able to embed the date on photos unless the resolution is set to "postcard mode", which is 1600 by something pixels. Set to that resolution, and then try to set the date mark feature (it will be greyed out when the resolution is not set to a compatible mode).

I AM TRYING TO SET THE DATE & TIME TO APPEAR ON MY PHOTOS ON MY CANON REBEL T2I

theres no date a time stamp on the photo itself with DSLRs but the meta data is kept on file in the photo so it has recorderd the time and date. depending on what photo printing software your using you can bring up the time and date back on the photo. I have canon photo printer and using the bundled software easy photo print, it allows me to print time and date of the photo. or if you use adobe lightroom you can get the time and date back on the photo. the time and date stamp is more of a compact camera rather than DSLR.

You'll need to check your owner's manual for directions for turning that feature off. As for the pictures that already have the date on them, Photoshop Elements or any similar photo editing software can easily remove them. Also, if the date is near enough to the edge of the photo, you might be able to just crop it out.

Show/print date stamp on my photos

In order to imprint the date stamp on photos, the photo size (L, M1, M2, M3, S, Postcard) must be set to Postcard, and in the recording menu the "Date Stamp" option must be set to Date or Date & Time.

How do you make the date print on photos?

Most cameras have a setting in the menus to allow the date and time to print to the screen and photos on playback.
Look in the menus having to do with the date settings. Note that some settings will affect others, so it may be a good idea to look at your manual. In most of the Canons I have and have worked on, they all have the setting to put the date and time on the picture.

Date/time issue on Canon EOS 350D

I was wondering the same when I first got my EOS. Learned later that the digital pictures do not have date/time stamp on the front of the photos like film cameras' photos. Details of digital photos are stored digitally in each image file's EXIF.

If you want to print photos showing the date/time, some software including Zoombrowser EX can do that. In Zoombrowser, select the photos you want to print. In Step 2 (Printer & Layout Settings), in the bottom left, you can choose Date and/or Time and even the colour of the font.

Date stamp on photos for Canon SD100 IS

I believe you are referring to the PowerShot SX100 IS, as there is no SD100 IS. And yes, it does have the date stamp option while the image size is set to the postcard mode.

For a Canon Powershot S51S camera, how do you display the date on the photo?

You want to go to the SETUP menu and select the PRINT menu. Then select the PRINT SETTINGS. Then choose the SET button. You can now use the arrow buttons to scroll up and down until you see the DATE option. This is where you can set this option to ON (which will add the date to the photos you want to print).

You can see the exact instructions on page 137 of the User's Manual here from the Canon website. http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900009893/PowerShotS5IS_CUGad_EN.pdf

Canon SD 1000 time and date stamp on downloaded photo

Set the resolution to PostageCard (1600x1200).
Many of these cameras have only ONE RESOLUTION setting which allows you to have a date/ date and time stamp on the file, which will print on the viewed or printed photo.

How to do it:
Turn the camera on M mode.
Use the func. set.
go down the menu to the resolution settings. (on the bottom of menu).
Pick only the postagecard (1600x1200) setting.

I also was like you, and had an awful time with a camera I was fixing. I then looked it up on the Net and found an online user manual for the Canon SD 500, which should be basically the same.
