Got it. Go to Searspartsdirect.com and on the right side type in your model number and on the next page again on the right is an area for see manual, you might have to set up a free user account to download this manual 35 pages long but it is there. If I have helped with your question would you please rate the response accordingly and thank you.

I persevered and finally solved the jig saw puzzle of pieces. The base is now assembled and just waiting for the saw body to be remounted. Thanks everyone for looking at this post.

SOURCE: switch from 220 to 120 volts
you need to open up the motor and swap/splice the line wires with the motor leads. contact sears. the diagram should be on the motor housing.

The best source I know of for old craftsman manuals online is here. If you can't find your particular model, you may find one of similar vintage that will have the info you need.
You may also be lucky to find something at the sears support site, at www.managemyhome.com.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
