If you are getting the problem in the RAM slot then try both the RAM 1 by 1 in that slot only. And start your pc.

Otherwise there is a fault in your motherboard and you need to go the service center.

If you pc is beeping when you turn it is most likely one or both (if you have 2) ram chips that have gone bad. Best way to check is to shut down, unplug pc, hold power button for a few seconds, open case and remove 1 chip (if you have more than 1), turn pc on if you still have at least 1 ram chip installed. if it does not beep you have taken the bad one out. If it beeps then shut down again and put ram back in and take out the other one. Turn on pc, hopefully this will resolve the problem.

Intel 845gvsr mainboard no display problem

this problem is normal because of the BIOS chip failure normally

symptoms:
when u get ram out and start computer it gives beeps and when u put back the ram and power on PC it gives no beep no display.

Fix the problem:
tools required:
1. hot air gun
2. 512kb fresh bios chip/ if the old chip is right then no need of newer one
3. p3 mainboard (with the BIOS socket) for reprogramming the chip
4. dos bootable hard disk
5. bios bin file.
have not the file ,
don't worry: this file can be made from the bios chip of a working mainboard using the bios flash utility.
flashing software: best is Uniflash.

Procedure:
1. with hot gun, get the bios chip out of the board,
2. reprogramme the chio with correct bin file.
3. put the bios back

Reprogramming:
copy the file in dos bootable hd
run the hdd on p-3 board
pull the bios out of running board (with slight care)
put the 845gvsr bios chip in place of p-3 bios
run uniflash and flash the bios
power of p-3 computer and get bios out

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the computer, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear the DvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for a second or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, but the screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with the laptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problem is with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and take note of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoever when you press the power button.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, then Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can put the battery back in and let it charge.

Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of the memory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

My pc just beeps every 2 to 3 sec no vedio

Either your video card is bad or you might have some bad memory. Does the video ever post anything on the screen when you press the power button to start the computer?

It really sounds like a memory problem.

When I startup my HP 5750 PC, if just makes 5 3short beeps, what is the problem and how do I fix it?

Is it 3 Short beeps? Check your RAM.
I mean, take out the RAM, clean its contacts with an eraser and put it back.
If the problem persists,

If you have many RAM chips, try starting computer with only one chip at a time and thus you can find which one is faulty.

Take the faulty chip and try on some other computer, if same proeblem, that chip is damaged.

The BIOS is unable to access the video system in order to write any error messages to the screen.

This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, or the memory on the video card. It can also be a motherboard issue.

If its onboard VGA (Video Card chip built on the motherboad, which I believe it is with a Compaq computer), it is possible the video chip went bad or might be a RAM problem. You can try to open up the case (unplugged of course) and take the RAM out and put it back in, or if you have more than one RAM chip try each one separately.

If you had another computer that uses the same type of RAM, you could try the RAM chips in another computer to make sure it is not the RAM that is causing the beep code.

But 1 long and 2 short beeps usually points to the video card/chip or the motherboard failure.

Do you get video? If so then it could be a stuck key on the keyboard.

Do you get no video? If so then reseat the RAM.

Compaq Presario 5000 wont boot up

Check the memory, remove and reseat the memory. If that does not work then try and replace the BIOS battery, again if that does not work then it is time for a new motherboard. Do the fans turn on?

Wont recognize additional ram

It could be the wrong ram that u are using when i put extra ram in I make sure they are all the same brand. some boards take 2 different types of ram (speeds) i would go back to crucial with your good ram in and then do a check and see what ram your board needs
