Question about Acer Aspire Computers & Internet
I start it , the screen appers then it says it needs to reboot press any key, then a screen appears and it says to scrool down or up and then press w/ one, but the keys wont go up or down no movement what so ever???
When your computer won't boot past the title screen or
start-up screen, it usually means you have software problems or a virus.
Almost all Acer computers come preinstalled with a Windows operating system, which allows you to troubleshoot the operating system before locking up during the start-up screen.
Whether your problem is hardware or software-related, this technique allows you to access your desktop to retrieve all the items you want from your hard drive before completely reinstalling your operating system.
Click the power button.
Within the first 10 seconds, a BIOS keystroke should pop up.
The keystroke to access the BIOS is usually the "ESC"+"SHIFT" keys.
"F8" is also an option for getting to the BIOS.
After keying the keystrokes, the BIOS screen is displayed.
Navigate through the BIOS system, which is the first system that your computer accesses.
The BIOS contains several commands and options to scroll through to modify various ways to start up your computer or reinstall the entire system.
It contains the booting options of your computer.
Navigate to the desired option with the arrow keys and select "Start in Safe Mode."
Safe mode is an operation your computer can run in which it doesn't use full capacity of your computer's hardware or software, but allows you to navigate to your computer's desktop and hard drive, regardless of an existing virus.
Restart your computer in Safe Mode and wait for it to boot.
After navigating to your desktop, begin dragging and dropping any information you want to save onto an external hard drive or USB thumb drive before the virus corrupts the files.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: notebook problem
obviously a driver error, you may have the drivers on another partition on your hardrive ,in a restore folder maybe, Acer normally have drivers and programme installations somewhere on the hardrive, so you can restore to it's original factory setup. If you do not an option would be to simply go to Acer website and download them. Only other option is to purchase an external USB powered DVD/CD drive if it's not working, although if you haven't got a restore cd it's irrelevant.

This problem is indeed caused by a faulty MBR but there are solutions other than zero-filling the drive.
If you can get access to a RipLinux CD there is a little utility called Testdisk that will write a new MBR code to the first block of the drive. I just did this on a Sony PCG-K15 this morning (after cloning the drive just to be safe) that was giving the same error of "LOAD ERROR- Press any key to reboot" and it worked like a charm. The machine booted right up.
Hope this helps...

Must be common problem. Linux is the operating system
yes you just lost linux, it needs re-doing but with an external CD ROM drive unless it has a partition
for recovery in which either F10 key will do it or another key check the manual for RECOVERY of operating system its not a big problme but it takes few hours to solve
