A couple of hours after we started up our new dehumidifier, it started spitting water from the air vent on top of the machine. There was about three inches of water in the bucket. We emptied it and restarted the machine. The spitting started again. Basement temperature of 54 degrees is within machine's operating limits. Is there a blockage somewhere? Should we just take it back to the store?
SOURCE: Water bucket - proper seating
Try re-seating the bucket. I have found some LG models that if not seated all of the way will sometimes keep running and think the bucket is not full even when it is. On the models that I have seen do it the problem is usually the left side of the bucket not engaging all of the way. When you reseat the bucket, feel where the bucket meets the dehumidifier on each side and make sure they are even. If one feels like it is sticking out further than the other and you cannot push it in any more pull the bucket out and try and reseat it again until both sides are flush with the dehumidifier. If you found this solution helpful please rate it.

So I just had this happen with my Frigidaire fad704dwd dehumidifier. I went to basement and heard it running and sounded off. The compressor was running fan was off which is bad and humidity said 30. I then pushed the off button and it stayed running. I was able to fix it. To make long story short it was a bad ground. I took the plastic back, sides, and front off. There was a green ground (main ground) and Green/yellow ground (fan ground) on the front coil with a bunch of rust. Removed the grounds connected them both together and cleaned the surface area and used a new stainless screw nut and screw to remount the wires to evaporator coil. Everything started working fine after that and I put it back together. Good Luck
Hey friend, thank you for your post!
I understand that you would like to remove the cabinet within your Frigidaire dehumidifier. Typically, the cabinet is not accessible. If you need to access anything internally within your dehumidifier I would suggest seeking assistance from a professional. Best regards! -Matt
Hello Diane Weber, thank you for your inquiry!
I see that you have recently purchased a Frigidaire dehumidifier and the display is not working properly. When you returned the original appliance did they test it in store to see if it worked? Are you using any type of extension cord or surge protector on the appliance? With this additional information I can better assist you. -Matt
The dehumidifier has a non-removable tray under the coils (they look like radiators) that collects and drains the water away. If the tray or drain gets clogged with dirt or slime the water doesn't drain away well. Some water is picked up by the fan and is blown out the vent. Take the covers off the machine and give everything a good cleaning. If you get water on any electrical parts, let the machine dry thoroughly before plugging in.
