SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Widen the screen on Westinghouse tv

Screens are controlled by ASPECT RATIO.
Monitors can have 4:3 16:9 and 16:10 ratios.

You are doing 1 of 3 things.
  1. You have a regular monitor and the tv and are duplicating the screen.
  2. You have a regular monitor and the TV and are extending the screen.
  3. You have just the tv connected.
Your video card has to have a screen resolution that meets the tv's ratio to have the tv take the full screen.

If your configuration is 1. the tv will only match the monitor resolution, so if you change the screen resolution, you may get bars on the monitor, and the tv will go wide screen.

if your configuration is 2. the tv is controlled independently and you can select it to change its resolution to an appropriate aspect resolution. *this requires that your video card gives you the correct screen resolution for your tv. not all displays will work.

If your configuration is 3. the tv is the only resolution that is being pushed and just adjust the resolution til the screen is filled in.

To adjust the screen resolution, right click on the desktop where there isnt an icon and select either Properties (windows xp) or Screen Resolution (windows vista, 7 and 8).

if you have 2 screens press the identify button and it will put a number on each screen. click the appropriate screen and go to the resolution dropdown below. Change, apply and if it doesn't look right, revert and try a different setting. if you try them all and it won't take up the full screen, then the video card can't push the video resolution your monitor wants.

3 inches of black on both sides of my monitor

I have seen this when using HDMI cables from the computer side.. The TV has a resolution that is not always full screen with TV shows. There is a setting that allows you to "zoom". My TV has 4 settings: normal, stretch and crop, stretch left and right, stretch and pinch (shrug).

Hello,

Normally you have to open Control Panel, then open Display. From the Display properties dialog window, choose Settings and then Advanced. Your video card should have features available for all potential external displays. This includes TVs. That may be listed as a choice or you have to find the button to 'automatically find/detect TVs'. Once you get to the TV property sheet, you want to choose 'Clone' or words to this effect. Once your TV is found (your S-video or HD cable needs to be connected and active) then you can see your desktop on the TV. You can set parameters for the TV display. These are normally 60Hz unless you have a HD TV and then you can set a higher refresh rate and video display size 800x600 and 640x480 are common for an analogue TV. Use higher displays for your HD Flat Screen to accommodate a 16:9 width. Once you have activated Clone mode set your TV to the input line your HD cable or S-video cable input and you should see your desktop on the TV..

Some things to be careful about is how the display on the TV screen performs. Does it stretch your video out of proportion or not, and if it does you need to hunt for a property value you can set to modify what you see now to what you want to see.

Many video players on your PC or Laptop can clone your display adequately. But, there are some players that are preferred. Once in VLC media player and the other is Windows Media Player classic found after installing the K-Soft Full Codec package. Both of these are free and can be found in the Multimedia section of http://www.majorgeeks.com/. You will also want to ensure you have the latest Codecs available. Once again, the preferred program is K-Soft Full.

Let me know how you make out.

Regards,
Worldvet

Movie Files will not display on the TV.

Its quite possible your laptop has lost its association with your TV as a "secondy monitor".

To check this, minimise everything and right click on the desktop and go to Properties. Then navigate to the settings tab. This will show you how many displays it considers itself to have.

Click on number 2 (if visable) and click on extend my windows desktop to this monitor.

You should now be able to go between screens
