Check the condensor fan in the compressor area and make sure its running if not the compressor will overheat causing high head pressures on the compressor causing it to draw too much current to operate the compressor and kick the breaker out, also make sure the condenser coils there are clean and it has ample air movement away from the wall

SOURCE: I have a GE Monogram Icemaker ZDI15CBB which is

GFI outlets tend to wear out very quickly with a refrigerator running on them, most Manufacturers do not recommend plugging any major appliance into a GFI outlet. If you plug it into a non GFI outlet and it works fine the problem is in the outlet.try and plug it into another recepticle the GFI might be bad.But if you try in another outlet and same problem then its the fault in the compressor. The compressor is heavy current consuming part. And when the compressor kicks on the high voltage current is passed ,but if the compressor or any of its supporting parts like capacitor or relay or the compressor fan is weak then it will trip the GFI. -------------- To check where the parts are located and how to disassemble the unit and from where to order parts. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Ge-monogram-Parts/Ice-maker-Parts/Model-ZDI15CBBP/3271/0164160?searchedModel=ZDI15CBB&blt=11 -------------

Allow the unit to dry out for a few more days and see what happens, but it sounds like there's a shorted wire someplace in the unit. I would not put this unit into service until this is found.

www.u-lineservice.com is the mfg website for service, you can find a servicer zip code search at this site

rcd units trip from the milliamps that are in a short
it trips the rcd to prevent electrocution and acts in nano seconds besides being a circuit breaker for excessive current
the trip can be from moisture allowing a current leakage to ground or some other simple operation
I suggest that you get in a qualified electrician / bosch service technician to find the reason for the problem rcd

Holmes hch6150 will not produce heat

Without having the heater to tear apart to see what is not working, you may try the following. Your heater is a 1500 watt heater and pulls about 13 amps of current. If you plug it into a recepticle that is already have load turned on, most recepticle circuits are rated for 15 amps and you have probably tripped the breaker for this circuit. Check your breaker panel to see if a breaker is tripped. If it has tripped, this will tell you your pulling to much current. Try another circuit that allows the heater to operate or find the other load on the circuit that is causing the breaker to trip. By the way to reset the breaker take the breaker to full off, this resets the trip, and then turn it back to on.
Hope this helps

On the water heater the circuit breaker was tripped. Reset and heater started working ok. Main service breaker was still on/ possible reasons for this problem.

Circuit breakers for water heaters generally operate at their maximum current. Once in a while a circuit breaker will trip for no apparent reason. The other reason may be a fault with the element or the thermostat. If this is the case it will generally happen again. If it does the element and thermostat need to be tested. If there is a fault the c/b on the HWS should always trip before the one at the switchboard providing that they are the same rating.

I have a square D breaker with shunt trip. The breaker keeps tripping so how do I check the breaker?

A shunt trip breaker operation.

It works just like a normal circuit breaker with one additional function. A shunt-trip breaker also has a built-in magnetic coil that can be energized externally to trip the breaker.

So what is wired to the shunt that is not letting the breaker reset?

One of the breakers assigned to our Hot wtr htr has been tripping recently leading to loss of hot water. This has happened twice in the last month. After resetting the breaker things have worked fine,...

Breaker could be bad.
Let's do a quick check and save you money.
Open top cover on water heater and push in red reset button that might be tripped.
If reset is tripped, water heater should turn ON.
If reset will not reset, then replace upper thermostat:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-replace-thermostat-on-electric-water-heater.html
If reset is not tripped out, then it is OK, so test two top wires on upper thermostat.
Use cheap multimeter from home center, and set dial to 240-250-277 VAC.
Test across top two screws on upper thermostat to see if you have 240Volts.
To do full troubleshoot on ordinary tank electric water heater takes 30 minutes and multimeter
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-electric-problems-with-water-heater.html

If water heater is not receiving 240V, then the breaker is suspect, or a wire between breaker and water heater is loose.
See basic water heater circuit
http://waterheatertimer.org/240-v-water-heater-circuit.html

Now let's look at circuit breaker:
Mark suspect 240V breaker.
Identify all your breakers, and also mark another 240 Volt breaker that is same amperage as water heater 240V breaker.
Turn off main breaker.
Take front panel off breaker box.
The wires and lugs on main breaker are HOT, so stay away from that area.
http://waterheatertimer.org/See-inside-main-breaker-box.html
Suspect breaker has 2 wires coming from breaker.
See if one or both wires are loose, and then tighten.

If wires are tight, then move these wires to the other 240V breaker that is rated for same amps as water heater.
Now turn on main breaker.
Put ear against water heater tank to hear bubbly fizzing sound.
This will identify if circuit breaker is bad, or if water heater needs a full troubleshoot.
It is not a good idea to run two 240V appliances on same 240V circuit breaker, so you may have to decide one or the other appliance until you can replace breaker.

Hi

The issue is with the heating element of your dishwasher, it is withdrawing very large amount of power and thus, the circuit gets overloaded and circuit breaker trips. You'll need to check for any short circuits around the heater element. And, also the resistance of the heater element, it should be around 1.4K ohms to 1.8K ohms.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and Revert for further assistance.

Refrigerator cools as normal. Trips 15 AMP circuit breaker.

a full size refrige has to be on a 20 amp circuit, a 15 amp is just not big enough.. you should also know that this circuit has to be on a 12-2 gauge wire.. I also highly recommend installing a 20 amp HD receptacle

3-pole 60 Amp Circuit Breaker is tripped and won't reset.

When this breaker tripped, it did not go fully to off. Push the breaker all the way off and then all the way to on. It should be fine. If not manually push it to full off once again and then back on. If both attempts fail the breaker will have to be replaced. good luck.
