Contact manufacturer.
Generally the answer is probably no, especially if you have a family, children, dog and neighbors.

Propane burns Hotter and has more pressure than natural gas.
Burner must be more robust cast iron.
Orifices must be changed to accommodate different gas.
Different gas control valve needed.
In some cases there are dip switch changes for type of gas and altitude above sea level ... the higher the elevation, the hotter gas burns.

Here is expected result from changing NG to LP.
But your good luck might lead to less volatile result

SOURCE: What does it take to convert a Rinnai R75LS water heater from propane to natural gas?

Contact Rinnai.
Gas control valve is different, burner is different, burner and gas valve must match, threads are regular instead of reverse, dip switches probably have to be changed since combustion of NG is not as hot. Maybe different sensors. Pressures are lower with NG.

Where do I get a Propane to natural gas conversion kit for a Reliance 640LORT water heater

You should be able to get this at any home improvement store or a Tractor Supply Store. Another source would be somewhere like Praxair or whoever your local propane gas refill place is.

Can i convert a Rheem ECO 180DVP (LP gas unit) to a natural gas unit ?

Rheem water heaters should not be converted from propane to natural gas. The burners have been optimized for the rated gas and will not work as well after conversion. (Unlike ranges where the gas/air flow ratios can be adjusted when the burner orifices and regulator are swapped, the water heater doesn't have that option.)

I wish I had better news for you. I recommend you get a new water heater for the LNG service; it will be safer and more efficient.

I bought a AQ125BNG from my neighbor and when I read the instructions it says to use a gas pressure regulator on the AQ125B but I dont know if I need it on my AQ125BNG too is not that clear. I will ap

The NG at the end of the model # means natural gas. If you have a nat gas meter outside on your home, the regulator is already there. If you have propane gas for your home, then the control and the appliance needs to be converted to propane, if the conversion kits are available. Call the manufacturer if you have any doubts.

Change orfis in water heater

Do NOT do that.
If you put LP gas to NG heater you can cause explosion.
Contact manufacturer and see if they sell conversion kit. Most do not.

I HAVE A PTG-74PVP-2 THAT USES PROPANE & I WANT TO CHANGE THE '' ORRIFICE '' OR WHATEVER IT TAKES TO USE NATURAL GAS INSTEAD . I CURRANTLY HAVE A NATURAL GAS TANK TYPE THAT I WANT TO REPLACE .

you must get the conversion kit which is an orifice and gasket(s),springs, or possibly a whole new gas valve--call the manufacturer, or a wholesale plumbing/heating supply warehouse and they'll be able to find you the part number, or point you to someone who has it---keep asking, and someone in the industry will eventually help you....the correct orifice,gaskets/springs are needed because there is a very precise pressure and flow of gas needed for both natural and propane gas

I need to convert this water heater to natural gas. Is there a kit available to do this?

No kits are available to convert his unit to NG. This is because the LP uses copper pipe and is within code, the NG uses black pipe and each unit is specifically designed, entirely, to use the gas associated with the unit.
