Okay so, I had the same problem and all you have to do is have regular sms texting to get the downloads on your phone...
Go to:

Nokia and Cect use the same GPRS for there mmsing so you'll be able to download the following with no problems:

  • Mobile Internet (WAP/GPRS settings)
  • Multimedia messaging (MMS settings)
  • Internet access point (Internet settings)
But if you don't have internet acces then don't bother with it It's not free.
If you have any questions just email me at:
Or you can visit my website has nothing to do with The Cect p168 phone but yoyu can contact me on it.
Good luck<3<3

You should be able to call tmobile and tell them you need the GPRS and MMS settings pushed to your number for a LG 720.

when the text comes to your phone, open it and select the right soft key to install the settings. you may also want to go to web sessions and make sure the tzones is selected as default, then go to
messages> options> settings> mms settings>web service t-zones

what failed? the picture being sent or the settings installing?

and here are the exact steps to find the settings.....sry i was going from memory last night

from the desktop press menu> media net> browser settings> accounts

for AT&T you should see Media Net, T-mobile there should be one called T-ZONES and the acccount needs to have a check mark next to it. if it doesnt highlight it and press activate.

if there is not an account the coresponds to your carrier then the settings do not exist in your phone and you must call your service provider where they can push an install of the settings into your device. make sure you mention that its a LG970 as the settings will differ between models slightly.

if your service provider says that they do not have settings for your device then you must ask for

    these things:

    1. proxy address

    2. proxy port #

    3. username

    4. password

    5. APN

    6. MMCS url

    7. MMCS proxy

these are all things that could be ushed straight to your device.

there are three places on the shine that require settings.

i will list the three locations below in the following order; Network Profile, browser acct settings, mms settings

    • menu> settings> connection> network profiles

    • menu> media net> browser settings> acccounts

    • menu> messaging> message settings> multimedia message> message center

(here you will select your coresponding network from above: settings can be manually adjusted)

When i receive or send picture mail i get a "generic network failure' but i can receive normal texts. Ive tried almost everything..please help

You need to activate GPRS or 3G services from your network provider to receive picture messages. If the service is activated then you do not have the settings for those services on your mobile. Call your service provider and ask them to send the service settings on you cell. Once the settings are installed, restart your phone. Hope this solves your problem!

My picture messages cannot be sent or received its says check internet settings profiles I have a sony ericsson k800 cyber shot, I cannot send or receive picture messages, not sure why, please help.

Make sure your subscription covers the desired service(s), and that the selected carrier (e.g. GPRS/EDGE) is available in the area. If you still have problems sending or receiving MMS (picture messages) or accessing the mobile Internet/WAP on your phone, you probably need new settings installed. Go to your mobile carrier website and follow the instructions to receive the settings in an SMS message. You can also contact your operator for the correct settings.
