But remember you would need a chip resetter gun to re set the chips on the ink cartridges after you refill the cartridges.

My friend, in my experience, when you purchase these kits, they come with all the tools, ink and instructions needed to ruine (ops, sorry) to fill your cartridges.

I have never had any success with refilling these ink cartridges and in fact have ruined two printers with refilled units (A Canon and a Epson). I know the ink is expensive.

Listen, I have never had a printer go out of service by using the manufacturers genuine branded cartridges and I have never been disappointed with the results. If $ is a concern, you can set your printer to print in draft mode for most printing. Epson has other tips on economizing the printer cost at their website.

there are devices used to reset these chips but if you are going to reset it manually it will be imposible to do so, manufaturers have an expiration date on this chips, that manufacturer always reminds us to buy a new fresh cartridges, these cartridges has limits on how many time you can refill in my experience i only refill it 2 to 3 times before i purchased a new set of cartridges to avoid any damages to the printer

You can't print in black only mode because printer need all cartridges not empty to initialized and working.Don't try to refill this cartridges, it's have a chip and you need to reset it too.Just look in your are for non OEM ink cartridges.Thea are 2-3 times cheaper.

hose cartriges cant be refilled unless you buy a kit that has a chip resetter, to reset the ink level.

Without the chip being reset, the printer will think a filled cart. is still empty.

Use syringre with small outlet. Fill from bottom side of ink tank. Better you don't refill ink tank. It will distort rubber seal at bottom side of ink tank. Then ink will leak. After refilling, you must reset ink counter. Do you have chip resetter?

Buy a Universal Resetter for Epson Intelligent Ink Carts and follow the instructions. They work like a dream! Freely available from most third party cartridge dealers and eBay.

You can do a search on Google using "Epson C84 Refill Instructions" which will produce plenty of hits. However, this one gives very clear instructions:

If you only bought refill ink rather than a refill kit, and don't have rubber plugs, you can successfuly re-seal the filling hole using a small amount of epoxy resin e.g. araldite. This is easy to remove with a sharp knife the next time you want to fill it. Note the need for a cartridge re-setting tool - these can be purchased very cheaply on E-Bay.
