Question about HP Photosmart M415 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Digital camera that will no longer connect to the computer.

I use Picasa. I have been able to connect my HP photosmart M415 camera to the computer by cable. It would connect and Import the photos to Picasa. Lately it would say that it was "establishing connection" but then the camera would turn off. I could put the chip in my 4-n-1 and transfer the photos to the computer. Today I could get it to show the pictures but it would not import them. I enjoy the camera and being able to save pictures in an organized way but this is getting frustrating and I am not a tech person at all. Thanks for any advice. I just learned about this service from AARP and think it is wonderful!!

I don't know about your "picasa" software, and the importing procedure, but you could simply plug your card into the SD slot on your PC, and it will show up as a 'removable drive' located in "my Computer". You can open it and simply copy/paste the photos directly to any folder you wish. In other words, you don't need any specific software to import photos, and to me it's a much simpler process.
If you don't have a card reader on your PC, you can buy a USB to SD adapter to plug into your USB port for $15 +/-

I can't download pics from my hp photosmart M415 camera to my hp laptop, only vides are importing but not single pics. What should I do?

Apparently whatever program you're using to download is set to download only videos, not pictures. The best way to download pictures and videos from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures and videos from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo/video cataloging program, such as Picasa.

HP Photosmart m415 Power Trouble

Did the camera ever get wet? It seems that the connection from the battery to the device is weak. Check the battery compartment for corrosion, which can be caused by humidity as well. Also feel if the metal connectors are tight. If all seems well, you will have to take it in for repair.

I did some checking around for your camera. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?rule=28832&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=445611&lang=en You can check this website also. http://search.ebay.com/HP-Photosmart-M415-Digital-Camera_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40 I would buy a new camera. It would cost more to get the camera fixed than what it's worth.
