HP 2133 is a mini-computer (netbook) that comes with a built-in webcam you can use to take photos, record videos or video chat in messaging programs such as Skype or Yahoo Messenger. The built-in webcam generally fails to work if the driver is corrupt or damaged. Repair the webcam quickly and safely by reinstalling the driver from the HP website.
The webcam turns on whenever you launch a video chat program or a webcam software program. Debut and Photo Booth are two good programs for taking webcam pictures and videos. You can get the free download links in this article.
If I've understood it well, then you have an external webcam. If so then you can find your Creative webcam's driver here: http://support.creative.com/Products/Products.aspx?catid=218 Find the webcamera you have based on the photos and download driver.
If it is built in to your laptop then you can find the driver here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp# Choose your laptop type and number to find the webcam driver.
1. Right click on the webcam entry in the device manager and choose uninstall.
2. While uninstalling select the option to delete the driver software for the device.
3. Restart the notebook and try to use the webcam.
Even if the issue is same then download youcam software from the following link and install it on the notebook. You will get the you cam icon on the desktop and startmenu from where you can access the webcam.
I, for one, appreciate your sincerity. I hope it is not false. There have been many different versions of YM over the years and most of them would probably work with the newest Operating System to some degree. Have you verified that you are using the latest YM as I suggest the Beta 9 version instead of the non-beta 8.1 version. My recommendations has more to do with security then anything else but since I KNOW that beta 9 works with my built-in webcam it would nice to know you are using a version of YM that I trust and use nearly 24 hours a day. By the way, when you de-install the old YM, kindly remove the Yahoo! folder ( delete the folder after the de-installation and before the re-installation of software ) located under program files as corrupted files can be left after the de-installatin that might and could affect your future re-installation of the software. If this is the only problem you can see, i.e. no other system problems, I will assume you have a clean computer ( one not infected by some virus, etc ) so just do as instructed above and get back to me please.
Check on the software CD you received with the camera, whether it support your computer's OS.
In case it doesn't, go to the HP web site, look for the relevant drivers for you and dowmload it to your computer.
