Want to record live music from a soundlab professional pro-10/700

Im looking for a manual, or good advice. trying to record live music thru the deck( soundlab professional pro-10/700-efx ), wanna see whats the best way to do it. hoping the manual will either have a recommendation, or at least spex for compatibility.
think the xlr ports on the top are the best, but dont know weather its safe to connect them to my computers usb port, or weather it'd be better to use some kina mp3 recorder. my friend recommends using minidisc. im looking for good quality, and minimal expense.

Is the XLR unplugged from the channel when you are using a 1/4 " instrument cable?

SOURCE: Hi, I have just bought a R-H300 tape deck

If your mic isn't made for connection to an AUX or Line Level input you won't get its specified performance.

Perhaps if you defined the mic and looked up a user's guide somewhere (retrevo.com comes to mind) you might find what you need to use it. Mic's usually require microphone preamplifiers.

This is not the machine that I own, so I would suggest that you find a manual specific to this one and check it out.

Im Using Acid Music Studio 8.0 With & Xenyx502 Mixer. Every Time I Record It Sounds Fine But When I Play It Back When Im Finished Its Off Beat How Do I Fix This??

check the "buffer" setting - set to the lowest number possible. You can't eliminate the "latency" but you can reduce it a lot. Also 0 try to monitor what you are recording with "live" sound (input instead of output) - also, you may need to download a different driver for your audio card, try ASIO4ALL

Im trying to connect my mpc 2500 with pro tools 8. im using an mbox 2 pro as my interface. I can get pro tools and the mpc to sync...but i cant seem to understand why i cant hear any of my samples from the...

Check if the Mbox2 has an echo setting that echos the audio from its input. If you want the audio to loop through the PC then it will have to echo there instead. Check that in "Sound and devices" of the PC are all set to transfer via the MBox for voice and playback instead of the internal PC audio system.

Im thinking about buying a djx750 and have rokit 5 monitors. would this work? what is the best way to connect them, to have good sound? it is just for a home dj setup, all on one desk, two cd decks,...

Here is alink to the manual:http://www.behringer.com/EN/downloads/pdf/DJX750_P0956_M_EN.pdf You should have no problems hooking them up (RCA to RCA). I've been using a Behringer XenyX1222FX board in my recording system for about 4 years now and have been quite satisfied with it's reliability. Try to find a dealer who will demo the mixer for you.

Incorrect record speed

do you have a reel to reel deck or another machine? You may also need a schematic. Make a copy of about 2 minutes of a tape on a working machine. Keep the original in the working machine. Each cassette deck needs a different size belt. Try putting different size rubber bands on it. Cassettes usually play at 1 7/8 IPS (inches per second) each speed increases or decreases by doubling or dividing by 2.

Those are just standard phonograph player characteristics in my experience. You'll hear a tap on the deck because there's essentially a live mic ( the needle ) physically coupled with the record on the turntable and the rest of the phonograph player even though they try to dampen the coupling of the turntable as much as possible. The rumbling noise at high gain is because the turntables being driven by a motor via gears or a belt and creates some  vibration, wich is transmitted through the turntable and picked up by the transducer ( needle ), low frequency rumble, just like a recording studio on a busy street may pick up from road vibration/ noise.

Recording w mic

Hi on1site
Something you may have to try.
if the unit has level controls for gain, sometimes, you can get enough gain through the standard stages to record, particularly if the music is LOUD:). Record live to tape, drop it into a computer and run a compressor over it to pull the gain up to a decent level. Use the best mics you have is also another tip to good recording.

Problem with Sony RCD-W1 CD recorder

Are you copying a disc you have previously recorded? SCMS will prevent this.

'No disc'on the CDR deck usually means the laser is faulty. Can you hear it spin the disc? When you open the tray has the disc been rotated? The sony's laser is usually reliable. Sony US may have a fixed price repair or you can have a look yourself. I have the service manual should you need it.

you might want to downgrade to xp because vista uses alot of ram to run it. you could also get more ram. you need about 1gb and a half to 2 gigs to run most recording softwares and interfaces. i personally use vista cause i lost my xp disk and i got 2 gbs of ram and everything runs great, but if you really want to get into recording do what im doing and save up and buy a mac.
