Question about Washing Machines
Hi There, My Fisher Paykel MW512 washing machine makes a really loud grinding noise when on the Rinsing/Spinning end process of the wash cycle. It sound a bit like if there was a metallic ball spinning all around the washing machine during rinsing. I already tilted the machine back and check under it. It doesn't seem like something is stuck in it as I check the little fan on the top right hand corner and it seems fine. The main black spinning part seems really hard to turn though and is definitely the one making the noise. Could anyone help me on how to fix this? Thank you so much!

Most likely the problem with your washer is a bad bearing on the drain pump. The pump has to be replaced.
- The part number for the drain pump is AP3447809

It sounds like you have a motor coupling that is broken. There are videos on YouTube to show you how to repair this. Search for "motor coupling repair on direct drive".
