Question about Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2008: Windows

Problem with Liveupdate of Norton anti virus.

Sir, 
     I cannot update my Norton antivirus which i have just bought.I am using Opera 6.4 and when i try to update, it says 'Could not locate remote server' but my connection is normally fine.I have tried for many times but i still could not succeed to up-date it,i am loosing hope,can You pls help me...

Cannot enable symantec antivirus in Vista


1. run the liveupdate
2.click on start and inside the start search type msconfig check whether it is in selctive or normal startup (it should be normal startup) change the date to one month before and run the liveupdate again and restart the computer

Dear Sir, i can't update my antivirus regularly....product details are given below :- windows server 2003 symantec antivirus


U need to make sure that it must be an original norton anti virus.........



If u are unable to update, Check settings....U might have deactivated the update setting....check the speed , coz if the internet speed wld be less than 64kbs, u might not be able to update...



and if its still persists, unintsall and again install norton. :)

Norton antivirus liveupdate


1) Close all Norton applications.

2) Moved file [ccWebWnd.dll]
from [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\]
to [C:\_My Files\_TEMP]

3) Run LiveUpdate
Type [C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LUAll.exe]
into Windows Explorer Address bar and hit [Enter]

4) Restart your computer.

5) Moved file [ccWebWnd.dll]
from [C:\_My Files\_TEMP]
to [C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\]

6) Run Norton SystemWorks LiveUpdate from your Windows Start Menu.

7) Restart your computer.

Norton 360 has the entire norton protection suite built into it. On top of the firewall, phishing protection, and e-mail protection it also has norton antivirus built right into it. So yes, you have to uninstall antivirus to install 360, but 360 just installs antivirus again. If you ever decide to go back to using just antivirus you can simply redownload it off their web site. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039 remove Norton using this tool. Then re-install Norton. Or even better find one that works. Avast is very good and free to the non-commercial user. Hope that helps Tim
