Uploading From Computer

Every time I try to upload an app onto my TI-84+SE the computer says error and it doesnt transfer. I'm really frustrated. Can someone tell me why my stuff wont transfer?

Os transferring error

The standalone version of the OS for the TI84Plus/TI84Plus SE are not for TI-Nspire with TI84 keyboard. The 94 Plus part of the TI-Nspire is updated when you update the OS of the TI-Nspire. The version numbers are different.

Xmit error message

Error in Xmit meaning one of the next options:

• The TI-84 Plus was unable to transmit an item. Check
to see that the cable is firmly connected to both units
and that the receiving unit is in receive mode

• You pressed ON to break during transmission

• You attempted to perform a backup from a TI-82 to a
TI-84 Plus

• You attempted to transfer data (other than L1 through
L6) from a TI-84 Plus to a TI-82

When i press the apps button, all it shows is finance... how do i get the rest of my apps back??

The Finance App is part of the Operating system. You cannot get rid of it. The other Applications can be deleted from Archive Memory.
To restore them:
  1. Download them from
  2. Connect calculator to computer
  3. Run TI Connect.
  4. Drag and Drop an App onto the TI connect Main window
  5. The App should transfer to calculator
  6. After transferring one or two Apps, Press [2nd][MODE] to (QUIT) and let the calculator defragment the memory.
  7. Transfer one or two more Apps.

APPS are missing

You can download them to a computer from and transfer them to a calculator using the USB cable, and/or you can transfer them from one calculator to another using the unit-to-unit cable.

I get a access denied error when i try to transfer programs to my ti 84 plus

Here is what the TI Knowledge Base has to say about resolving the problem you have.Hope it helps.

How do I resolve the error "Access Denied" when transferring an App or OS using the TI Connect software?

The error "Access Denied" indicates that the TI-Connect software could not complete the current transfer due to an unforeseen error. Please try the following troubleshooting steps if the error persists.
Perform a manual "Garbage Collect" on the calculator (TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus family only):
• Press [2nd] [0] [TAN] [ENTER] [ENTER] [2].
NOTE: A manual "Garbage Collect" can take up to 5 minutes to complete.
• Attempt to transfer data to the calculator.
Uninstall and reinstall the TI-Connect software:
• Go to Start >> Settings >> Control Panel or Start >> Control Panel and select "Add or Remove Programs".
• Locate the TI-Connect software in the list and then choose "Remove".
• Once the software uninstall process has completed, please shut down and power off the computer.
• Wait approximately 20-30 seconds and then reboot into Windows.
• Download and install the latest version of the TI Connect software from the TI Connect Software home page.
• Once the TI Connect software install process has completed, restart the computer before using TI-Connect.
• Attempt to transfer data to the calculator.

Restore apps to TI-84 Plus

I am always happy to polish the apple...before I eat it. (Just joking!)

All the applications that were preloaded on your calculators are available to download freely from Use the tab Download--> Apps and software. Then select software for the TI83/TI84 Family. While you are at the site download the TI Connect, if you do not have it already. The link follows. You can also download the latest OS there. (Beware: while applications and programs are compatible with the TI83 and 84, the Operating systems are not.)

Install TI connect on your computer and run it to open the main Window.Then connect you calculator to a USB port and, in the TIConnect main window Click the TIDeviceInfo icon. Software will try to retrieve the info. If it does your calculator is ready to communicate with the computer.

If it tells you Device Not found , Click communication settings in same pop up window where it said Not found, and Select Device, Select Cable (USB or TIsilver cable), Select Port (USB1) and Click OK..

If you are lucky and it works, you can reinstall the OS, which can be downloaded from You drag and drop the OS on the TIconnect main window. Calculator must of course be connected to computer. To install an application already downloaded to your computer, drag it to the main window of TI Connect and drop it. Keep installing, the appilcations you want.

If you have problem with TIconnect, use the calc-to-calc cable to transfer the Apps from a working calculator. You should be on Receive mode [2nd][Link] --->>Receive. (When both calculators are ready hit enter.) The other calculator must be set to Send [2nd][Link][SEND][C:Apps]. A list of Apps appears. Scroll down the list. If you want to transmit un app you press [ENTER] when the arrow reaches its line. Once an app is selected , a small square appears on the left. After the selection, Hit transmit. I suggest you transfer Apps, one after the other. Avoid selecting them all and send them all at one go.

If you want to transfer the OS of a working calculator the sending calculator must be on [2nd][Link][SEND][SendOS]. TI83Plus OS is not compatible with TI84Plus nor TI84PLUS Silver edition OS.

In addition to the preloaded applications, you can also transfer programs the same way. For a repository of TI83PLUS/TI84PLUS and TI84+ SE, go to (or com), visit the archive section of the site.

TI-84 dowlnoad error?

Make certain you have registered your calculator on their site. I think you need to enter you internal number. The internal number can be found by pressing the 2nd key, then the plus key and choosing about in this screen.

Why do some TI83 program work on a TI84 plus and other don't?

Ti 83 and ti84 really have no difference and operate the same. There was something different or you had varibles used by multiple programs that conflicted w/ the ti84 and it would have done the same on the ti83. If you like to rework it and need help email me at

Memory Full Error

this is really weird. The TI 84 has nine times for memory then the 83 so if you still can i would try to return it to the store. Cause i think this is just a defect. I might be wrong. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK

Does the cable you are using have a short in it? I would also check the port on the calc itself.
