Headphone jack not working.

The usb ports work fine, but when I try to use the headphone jack, it does not work...I'm wondering what I can do to get this function to work because it is convenient and I do not have a headphone jack on my speakers, so I have to pull my desk forward everytime to plug the headphones in...please help.

Re: Headphone jack not working.

If you have a headphone jack at the front and the back, it may be a wire to the front panel is not connected properly on the Motherboard.

Suddenly there is no sound in the speaker but headphone works fine..laptop is Lenovo B575

If the head phone jack works its more likely to be the problem, if you use the headphone jack a lot the connections inside it can get worn or bent out of shape--engaging the headphone jack should shut the speakers in the unit off.

Other possible reason is a bad speaker or connections.

Headphones for a laptop not working

The Laptop has 3 Ports on the side- Pink,Green,Black
Pink Port is LineIn for an external device player jack

Green Port is LineIn for the Microphone jack
Black Port is LineOut for Headset or External Speakers jack

Plug the Green jack on Headphone - into the Black Port on the laptop.
b) Go to Control Panel and open - RealTek HD Audio manager
On the top of Page are 3 Icons -

One Icon is labelled Speakers One is for Digital optics, one is for Mic,
The Speakers Icon is misleading as it is also for Headphones (LineOut)

Select Speaker Icon and make it Default. Also tick Full Range - Front LR
Ignore the 4 vertical Analog Icons on the right side.

You should now have Headphone sound if your volume is not Muted.

click start control panel on the left select hardware and sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a microphone right click select enable windows 7

click start control panel on the left select hardware and sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a microphone right click select configure speech recognition then

you will see earphones with a speaker among a list set up a microphone headset with microphone then next and next again you should see your earphones with microphone being configured

click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list

make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or
select the voice tab

make sure that you have the right media selected also
select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it

or you might have to depending on your operating system
Click start Control Pannel
click on Hardware and Sound

click on Sound
then you devices should come up ; speakers, Digital Audio, and headphones

plug your headphones in
then select headphones

at the bottom it will say set as default
select that!!

then when you disconnect your headphones it automatically switches to the speakers and when you plug them back in it automatically will switch to headphones

hope this helps

The headphone jack on top doesnt seem to work and i dont know what the button on top by the left is for- I have the azza 1000

Usually if a jack doesn't work, it's because it isn't plugged into the motherboard correctly, or you have it muted in Windows. Check both things, and if it still isn't working, then possibly you have a bad jack, or bad plug onto the motherboard. Here is the manual, in case you didn't have yours.

My headphones won't work!

look at the headphone jack, if it has 3 band, it is a stereo jack. the computer is mono.
you need a 2 band jack.
if you look at the jack on the computer, you will see blue(left) and green (right). you canna try to use the green jack.
go to any electroic shop and get a stereo to mono converter.

Front headphone and microphone jack don't work.

Based on what you've submitted, I'm listing a number of solutions which may or may not help. Try the following:

1.) Double-check the color coding on the jack to the port and ensure they match.

2.) Go to Start Menu>>Control Panel>>Sounds and Audio Devices. If it says you have "No Audio Device", then we have a problem.

If it says you have an audio device, tinker with the tabs and settings until your sound output is good.

Please let me know if this helps. If you need further troubleshooting, feel free to ask me directly! Take care.

Front mic port and headphone

to connect your front panel header you must refer to your motherboard manual ...
it will given in detail with the pin diagram how to connect ....

check the motherboard compatibility some motherboards dont support working of the back panel header and front panel header at same time especially the old motherboards ....

almost all new motherboard supports working of both the panel headers at the same time if the motherboard supports multi streaming...

Your headphone jack is probably damaged and needs replacement. Here is one I found on the net: Repair your broken "Hands Free" socket, soldering required. This item is also available pre-mounted to the board, ready to plug in. Free shipping.
