How to remove the bit on a Skil Classic Router model number 1845-02? Thanks

On The Skill Classic Router DH 4200 all I see is the on/off switch, speed, and how to adjust the height and Soft Start but I don't see how to remove the router bit. Does anyone know where I can get a manual for this router?

Makita router overload reset

there is no overload reset. You have another problem, I am thinking the switch or cord. You can unplug and if you have a volt ohms meter start at the plug of the cord and work thru till problem is found. Usually the switch gets dust into it not allowing it to make contact.

Dewalt dw615 how do you secure the plunge is it the black knobs, thanks ged

Yes, it is the black handles / knobs.

Rotate them clockwise to lock the plunge, anti-clockwise to unlock.

Hope this helps,

Having difficulty seting bit depth

I'm not familiar with that brand, but no, normally you need only loosen the lock so the router can move up and down, and either twist it or plunge it into the correct position, lock it, check the depth, repeat.
If it's a plunge router you'll have a depth stop rod that you can use in conjunction with the stop nuts to dial in the correct height of the bit. If it's a conventional router you just have to twist it into the correct height and lock it in place without moving it.
If your router table is fairly light and portable, sometimes its easier to turn the whole thing upside down on a pair of sawhorses to adjust, then flip it back over. Otherwise, you just have to crouch down under there, aim a work light so you can see what you're doing, and adjust away.
Make sure you unplug it first!
Also be aware that you might need a fence for your work to ride against, that you may need to make your cut in successive passes rather than trying to hog off too much at once, and that even routers can grab the work and kick it, so be cautious and feed from right to left as you face the bit, (with the work closest to you).

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Dewalt 621 fine height adjuster

I would go to Dewltservicenet.com and in the middle of the page at the bottom type in your model number and you can go to either a breakdown or the instruction manual. On page 6 and 7 it talks about th fine height adjuster. Hope this helps

I need help on how to replace bit on router craftsman style

You didn't state the model number. The older Craftsmen routers had a red lever lock on the top of the router, one position allows the spindle to turn, the other position locks the spindle. Here's the instruction for the older style routers:

  1. Unplug the tool.
  2. To lock the spindle press the red button in and slide it to the locked position.
  3. Unlock the height adjustment knob.
  4. Raise the router motor using the height adjustment collar until you can get a wrench onto the collet nut.
  5. Loosen the nut until it turns freely.
  6. The bit may still be locked in the spindle, tap it gently (not on the blade!).
  7. The bit will come loose in the spindle and can be removed.
  8. Replace the bit, tighten the nut snug but don't use excessive force.
  9. Unlock the spindle, returning the red lever/button to the free position.
  10. Adjust the height of the bit as you wish, then lock down the motor using the locking knob.

How to adjust the collet easily?

Look for a button that will lock the collet in place. This will allow you to adjust the collet with a single wrench, without having to wrestle with several wrenches.
