First how long ago did it get wet?
If it's recent put it inside a plastic bag with uncooked white rice and try and get it dried out.
the rice will assist in this process.
Next, if the water just seeped into it chances are it can be saved, but no guarantees.
If you can open the ipod and remove the battery before the drying process that would be good.
once your ipod has been in the bag of rice for a few days, replace the old battery with a new one
and see if she fires up.

if your ipod fell in the toilet and got soaked for a few minutes it could have damaged the hard drive.
but you won;t know until u try and put a new battery in it.
The Lithium Polymer batteries have circuit board wrapped within the battery, often when it hits water it fries quickly and doesn't send anymore charge to the ipod. I have fixed a few like this.

If this helps, please leave a vote at fixya

Ipon the ipods case up. then Put the ipod in a zip lock bag full of uncooked raw white rice. seal the bag and leave it in there for 2 days. rice absorbs water. it should dry it up.
dont try to plug the ipod in or it will fry the circuit and you will destroy it.
If you need to know how to open an ipod case go to my website.

try reseting it with holding down the menu and center button. Your warrenty will have been voided due to the liquid damage though so if you cant get it working with the reset your gunna need a new one.

My i-pod nano wont switch on after charging

Try to do a reset. That might help.
Hold select button and upper button down at the same time until you see the apple logo.
Maybe that will work.

I-pod shuffle got wet and now wont switch on or charge

If ever you get any electrics wet, turn it off immediately and don't turn it back on. Try your best to take it apart as much as possible, putting the screws in a safe place like a zip lock or sealy bag, and taping them to the item so they don't end up in a safe place that you can never remember. Put all of the bits layed out on something like a towel in a dry, warm place. Airing cupboard is a good one. Leave them alone for at least a week. If when you come back to it there's any evidence of water at all, leave it for longer. When it's bone dry, put it back together with your fingers crossed. I've managed to do this a number of times and have saved 3 laptops, 2 iPods, a desktop pc, many remotes, 2 diskmans...the list goes on.

If you've got it wet and you try to turn it on when there's any moisture inside, you're very likely to short something normally rendering your item useless. Some parts may still work, such as LED's etc butthat's just an area that probably didn't get wet. If when you open the item there's any smell of electrical burning, or black residue then there's been a short.

Zune

I found the solution. what you do is you plug your zune into your usb port and your zune home page will come up automatically. as soon as your computer reads it look in the top right corner and go to settings. then go to device. finally press erase all content.

when it is done your zune should be empty but it will scroll and work once more...im not sure what is wrong but i had this same problem with my i pod and this same solution fixed that problem also.
ZUNES ARE MUCH BETTER THAN I PODS, stay zune and proud.
