SOURCE: Installing themostat for Whirlpool

Usually there are some screws that are at the area where the dial is. If it is the type I am thinking of it has a long capillary and two areas where the wires plug into. If you take off the wires you can usually follow where the capillary is and intall it. It is pretty self explanitory once you get the screws out. If this doesn't help you, can send me a picture and I can go from there.

Why is Hotpoint RLA64T Fridge freezing up after new thermostat fitted?

Make sure that the temp probe from the thermostat is located exactly where the old one was. If it had a plastic sleeve on the old one, the new one will need that sleeve. You shouldn't need to calibrate the control if it is the one specified for this model. If it was a generic replacement then possibly it could need some adjustment.

My side by side is freezing everthing solid. I have turned it all the way down, but it acts like a freezer. Even the eggs are frozen solid.

Hello,

Fryer heats up but does not maintain proper temp. last year replaced hi limit reset & today replaced thermostat

Hi there.
You may need to calibrate the new thermostat and in doing so, you will need a calibrated thermometer with sensor dipped in oil at about one (1) inch above the fryer thermostat sensing bulb.
Record the cut-off temp (when indicator light goes off) and compare it with the thermostat setting.
The thermostat has a calibration screw ( - ) recessed in the middle of the shaft, you will see the when you pull off the thermostat knob. this calibration screw can be turned by a precision screw driver, turn clockwise to decrease the cut-off temperature ; turn counterclockwise to increase the cut-off temperature.
Just make sure that the unit is preheated or have cycled at least 5 to 8 times and the oil is new before performing the calibration.
Regards.

My sg-14 pitco frialator heats fine for about an hour and then shuts off. I have to turn it on again, as it has shut down completly. I have replaced the main thermostat probe, but the problem continues,

Hi there.
Make sure that the gas pressure being fed to the unit is sufficient or meets the required pressure on nameplate.
Try to check the hi limit it it has continuity across the terminals (with wires removed during checking) when it shut down, if the hi limit has continuity across the terminals- it is good; if it has none- it is tripped so check the oil temperature, hi limit trips at temperature around 450F. Verify also the temperature setting and the thermostat calibration.
If the unit has thermopile, it should be free of soot or any form of dirt. All wiring connection must be tight.
For calibration procedure, wiring diagram and other troubleshooting references, you can visit http://www.pitco.com
Regards.

Fryer will heat up at 350 temp setting but actual reading is 375. The problem we are having is that the fryer will heat up fine then when the burner goes of the pilot will also shut off. If however i run...

The thermostat is out of calibration and the hi-limit may be as well. I could give you instructions on calibrating the thermostat but the hi-limit is not adjustable at all. The hi-limit cuts off the burners and pilot in the event that the unit gets close to the flash point of the cooking oil. It should not cut out until 400-425 so either the fryer is occaisionally getting a lot hotter than you think or the hi-limit has gotten weak due to the erratic operation of the thermostat. I would recommend that you change both the thermostat and the hi-limit.
