Timemaster loosing power when blades engaged

Timemaster 20199 starts up easy. When bladed are engaged and we begin cutting grass the mower cuts out. The mower sounds ok when ideling with the blades engaged but when ever we start running over grass it starts to loose power or looses it completely. The grass is dry, only about 3" high and the deck height is high

SOURCE: My Toro mower is 7 yrs old. 3 speeds, blade

I've noticed that when the blade get dull it work harder a cutting tall grass. I just put a new blade on mine and now it runs and sounds like a brand new mower. also if the inside of the deck is coated with old grass that makes a differance too

SOURCE: blade not engaging

The blade will spin automatically when the motor runs because it is connected to the main shaft. If it is not cutting, it will have to be removed and sharpened with a grinding wheel

SOURCE: When I lower the blade deck on my Troy Bilt mower

If it is a 2 cylinder with a set of bent valve push rods on one side it may well start and sound good, but it will not be able to do the work as only one cylinder is functional. I had a similar problem on a B&S V2. Pull the plug wires off one at a time. If it makes no difference with one plug wire off and is totally dead with the other plug wire off, then you have a dead cylinder.

On my trroy-bilt lawn tractor pony i was in high grass it seem to stop cutting smoke came from the deck stop cutting the handle that engage the blade become reaaly easy to move nothing happened

It sounds like you got into a job that was too big for the machine, and you may have either burned up the drive belt, or toasted the transmission or clutch.
Someone knowledgeable about such things should be able to raise it up in the air and look underneath and discover which problem you have.
God bless your efforts.

Have a vibrations only when blade is engaged

vibration when the blade is spinning is a sure sign that the blade is bent and out of balance , maybe you hit something solid in the yard ??? anyways blades need to be replaced / rebalanced) if you continue to use a out of balance blade then shaft seal on engine will wear out prematurely and leak motor oil leaks out

When I engage the blades on my ez4824 the blades intermittently stop cutting particularly in higher grass. Do you think this is a loose belt problem? Thanks.

That is the most likely cause of the problem - taller and thicker grass the blades encounter more resitance and the drive belt slips and it doesn't cut. This would likely cause a juddering of the machine when it occurs.

Hope this helps.

It sounds to me like a very loose belt or very worn out belt and also an adjustment problem.
