Please, please help me...
I have Satellite P200 and I'm still able to burn CDs but every time when I try to burn DVD it gives me this error code:
I have PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K17LF ATA Device in laptop, and I tought that maybe lens is dirty, so I clean it at least 20 times with cd and dvd cleaners, but still, the problem exist even now. Laptop is old less then 5months!
thanks in advance!
I have this same problem. The first time I tried to burn a back up CD disc, 12 seconds into reading the disc, it errors out. I'm using the Toshiba disc Creator. I'm running Win Vista with current updates.

Re: Toshiba Satellite P200
Couldn't find that specific error code anywhere. However to give more information try this. Try to burn a CD, when you get the error code go to:
Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer then Services and Applications. See if you get an "error" on a particular application you should as the event viewer documents everything that goes on in the system. Let me know what application or file is causing the error..standying by.

Have found this problem myself, and found this solution.
Some burners are fussy and won't burn properly on some brands or cheap discs. Suggest to try different brands until you find one that doesn't give you any trouble.
The DVD -R +R means that you can read these types of DVDs that have been created elsewhere, it doesn't mean you can write to your DVD under the format of -R or +R. The CD is a CDRW which means you can read and write to CDs.
I don't think that a factory Satellite P100 has the ability to write to either DVD -R or +R, but to only CDs. I have a P200 that has a DVD -R +R/CDRW and it can't write DVDs. These DVDs you put in are for read only. My Toshiba A215 can but it's a DVDRW/CDRW.

Yes it will work easy, no dubt about that,
I had the same problem and spent some time looking up this issue. I have a sony dvd player and it seems to have trouble reading almost any burnt dvd or cd. I have read that sonys seem to prefer the cheap dvds and cds for burning. It seems the cheap'O dvd players play burnt dvds and cds better that the nice ones, go figure.
There is more info out there about making sure to burn dvds and cds in the correct format. You can try different burning software that has more options than just vista. If you are creating a dvd from a movie file such as an avi or mpeg, please explain more on what you are doing and trying to accomplish.
Can you play a dvd movie if you can try reinstalling your dvd burning software. nero could have a corropt file if you are using this. If you cannot play any dvd and does not recouldnize any dvd disk their could be a problem with the device. I have not seen this error code before.
