Reload the operating system from the recovery disks supplied with the laptop, or from the imbedded recovery system hidden on the hard drive. You will have to check your owners manual to see which you have to do. It will explain the process.

My option to reset my password does not work. What can i do

If you lost, didn't create or your password reset cd is damaged, try contacting microsoft support or check their KB articles. PW's are usually case sensitive. If that fails....
Do a search for UBCD4windows or Hiren's BootCD
Download the ISO and follow directions to burn to a CD/DVD (create a bootable disk or USB key). You will need a valid XP sp2 install disk as well. Boot from the cd or USB key and use the utilities provided.

Error loading operating system

Well, a couple of possibilities you can check out are:

Reboot and use your F@ key to enter SETUP. Check to make sure that nothing has changed the boot device or boot priority of the machine. If it is not looking in the right place, it won't find the OS.

If that is OK, then you may have had the boot sector of the Hard Drive damaged or corrupted, or a Virus may have done a dirty deed to you. You can try rebooting into SAFE mode...if it can get that far...and running CheckDisk on the boot drive.
If that fails, most manufacturers have a set of Recovery options that you can use to regain use of the Laptop. Depending upon what is provided (and what you did when first setting up prevent this such as creating bootable recovery media) you may get everything back or you may end up with a system fresh out of the box and find all your personal files gone.

OXCOOOOOOF I was doing disk partition

Grab a copy of :
EasyBCD is NeoSmart Technologies' multiple award-winning answer to taking control of your bootloader. EasyBCD extends and revamps the Windows Vista/Windows 7 BCD bootloader, and with EasyBCD, almost anything is possible. Setting up and configuring a dual-boot between Windows 7, Windows Vista, older versions of Windows such as XP & 2003, Linux, Ubuntu, BSD, and Mac OS X is a breeze. You just point & click and EasyBCD does the rest.
EasyBCD is geared for users of all kinds. Whether you just want to add an entry to your old XP partition or want to create a duplicate for testing purposes; if you're interested in debugging the Windows Kernel or septuple-booting your seven test operating systems, EasyBCD is the key.
  • Boot into XP/Vista/7/Ubuntu/OS X and more!
and if :

Your "BOOT" folder has been deleted, was not created, or has been corrupted; and the Vista bootloader will not show.
Solution Boot into a working copy of Windows and install/run EasyBCD.
Go to the "BCD Backup/Repair" page:

Select "Re-create/repair boot files" then "Perform Action" to begin recovery. EasyBCD will recreate (if possible) your boot files and re-configure your bootloader from scratch.
If EasyBCD fails, that means a process has locked your BOOT folder. Manually delete this folder with a Live CD, recovery console, or other method, then try Type Three again.

I m lookin for installing dual boot with Vista ultimate n Windows 7, gotta dvd for both, any help??

If you wan to fresh install, here you can do ::
Try following steps.
Restart the PC, Press Delete for some time
It will lead you to BIOS setting
Go to the Boot Priority menu,
select DVD ROM as First Boot and HDD as Second Boot

Now Insert your Operating system CD: Vista Ultimate
Restart the PC and when screen says " Press any key to continue"
hit "enter"
Let the CD load and then select New Installation
Format the drive by pressing L, and then create three partition , 100 GB for Vista Ultimate, 100 GB for Windows 7 and rest for data.
Hit enter and let os Load

After complete OS loading, system will restart and again you will see " Press any key to continue"
DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY.

OS will boot and register it with microsft. create login and then remove OS DVD,

Insert the Windows 7 DVD
restrt the system, Hit enter when it says " enter any key to continue"
select new installation, point to the earlier created partition for windows 7 installation
proceed with same procedure.
after complete installation, when you restart the pc, you will find both the BOOT entries at booting.
do not forget to load device drivers on both the OS.

Enjoy!

My computer is stuck at: User profile service failed to logon, user profile can not be loaded. And where do I obtain Password Reset Disk (G:)

sounds to me like you have a corrupted user profile. Boot the computer in safe mode using the F8 key at startup. go in and make a new profile as an administrator. secondly. password reset can be done through boot disk tools called "bartPE" or "ultimate boot disk" you will need to download an ISO from the net and create the CD.

I cannot get windows to load..goes to an error screen which asks me to choose repair(recommended) or start window normally...then repeats

Run diagnostics on the system (Hold Fn Key and press Power) and see if the HDD fails diags. If it does, then replace the HDD.

If the DIags PASS

Boot to your windows XP CD, press R at the 1st prompt to enter recovery console, the run the command CHKDSK /R then see if the system will boot normally.

If no go, then reboot to the WIndows CD and continue the install and try a repair install of WIndows. If that fails, then try a clean install of Windows (Delete the existing NTFS partition and create a new one)

If all those fail, replace the HDD (Passing DIAGS does not ensure the HDD is good, just the diags didn't detect the failure)

My hp zd8000 is not rebooting and been told i need a new motherboard

Before you start thinking about your motherboard, let's rule out your harddrive.

Go online and Google "emergency boot cd" and choose a product that works for you. Many have "demos" you can use with limited capability, but that's fine. You will need to take the .iso file and burn a CD with it. This will create a bootable CD.

You will need to setup the computer to boot from a CD by going into BIOS and setting the boot sequence to CD first. If you don't know how to do that, here's a good article...
http://www.cites.illinois.edu/security/antivirus/bios.html

Using your newly created CD, put it into CD drive and start boot up. If your computer boots normally, you have a harddrive tht has failed. If not, you may have a motherboard issue, or possibly a different hardware issue that may require professional assistance.

Fails to boot

You might try a Hirens Boot CD, un-zip the files, create a bootable cd from the .ISO file and boot your troubled system, select virus scan on boot.
