Save yourself some money and don't repair it ,buy an external webcam it's the best thing to do. much less you will sent, than having it repaired. Look around for one.

Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.

But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.

Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

How to install webcam in asus Eee pc mini computer

Try enabling Webcam in the BIOS. Windows comes with a default webcam that should work.
To enter BIOS, hit F2 or Delete as the computer is booting up.
Good luck.

Hi, after windows 7 installation,my asus k50 laptop webcam is working head down, also I can't find my webcam setting.

Dear sir/Madam...
The Laptop come with the motherboard installation disc.Use that disc to install your webcamera automatically.if that disc will not work properly then try to download the right driver for your webcamera . Keep in mind, drivers are vary by the versions of Windows(xp,Vista,7). So you search in google.

I cannot connect to the net by wireless-connects fine with a cable.Am a private user so no admin problems Thanks

Hmm click "start" then "run" then type in "cmd". at the command line type in "ipconfig" Write down the IP address there. It will likely start with 192.168.1.*
* means some number between 1 and 255.
then shut down the computer and unplug the cable and turn on the wireless and let it boot back up. Now do that process listed above again and see what you get. If the numbers match or are really similar then your problems are half solved. If you are using icky Vista then you will need to make sure that that wireless network is set to private. You will also need to see what wireless networks are available and connect to the strongest one.

My web cam ws not installed. when my os was changed to windows xp my camera doesnt function anymore

If you upgraded (especially from an earlier version of Windows) chances are you'll have to go to the Webcam's manufacturers website and download the proper drivers for Windows XP. Make sure you uninstall the old drivers and restart you computer before installing the new drivers.

Hope this helps

Webcam driver

Some times BIOS disable webcam after updating it.

To enable it do the followings:

1. Restart your Eee PC.
2. Press F2 while booting (to enter BIOS sittings)
3. Go to "advanced" tab (by pressing right arrow)
4. Select "Onboard Device Configuration" (by pressing down arrow)
5. From there you can find if "Onboard Camera" is enabled or not.
6. If not, just press enter to pick "Enabled"

I hope that would help :-)
