This is a Sump Pump battery backup system. Fast beep in sync with flashing "Pump Run Status" and "Charger Mode" (yellow) lights (fast - 2x/second).

As far as I can tell, this looks like two separate problems (from the manual):

  • Richard Holmes Apr 21, 2013

    - Fast beep in conjunction with "Pump Run Status" -- pump is running. No action required.

  • Richard Holmes Apr 21, 2013

and "Charger mode", Fast flashing yellow with no alarm.

  • Richard Holmes Apr 21, 2013

Meaning, System is in the Constant Voltage Charge stage

  • Richard Holmes Apr 21, 2013

Alarm goes because of first issue

  • Richard Holmes Apr 21, 2013

Charging -- This could last up to 14.5 hours. However, the "disable alarm" doesn't work, despite the manual saying that it should. However, the pump appears to be running (first light indicates this). Could be a battery going bad?

I have a Simer 2305 and the pump will run but does not when the water is low?

Pumps such as the Simer 2305 do not pump water totally down to ground level. They are designed so they do not suck up debris , sediment, etc, which can clog and ruin the pump. So if your pump leaves an inch or so of water, that is normal.

Alarm won't shut off

This system does not have an alarm. The accessory alarm is something else. Check it's sensor and make sure it didn't get knocked into the pit.

What kind of is used in a simer submersible

The Simer brand of submersible dewatering pumps rely on being fully submersed in water for proper cooling and for the seals to remain water tight and effective.

According to the manufacturer, there is no oil used in the pump, other than a very small amount that was used in assembling the pump at the factory, so you shouldn't oil the pump, but rather follow the recommendations as to making sure the pump is installed properly.

Here's the owners manual for your particular pump (Model #2300) so you can check the troubleshooting FAQ's and so you can also contact the manufacturer, should you need replacement parts or need to make a warranty claim, etc.
