Trackpad won't work

Just opened...10'' Acer Aspire One. Trackpad will not work. It worked for a minute or two, then quit. I installed my 3-G air card, then it rebooted and the trackpad quit working. I tried Fn+F7. Still won't work. Any help out there? Just got it in the mail today.

Ok. I found out how to restore it to the original, but what caused the trackpad to stop working. All I did was install the air card. Any thoughts?

I just reinstalled the 881 air card on my Toshiba laptop and it worked fine. The problem seems to be on the Acer 10". The air card disables the touchpad for some reason. I installed it again, and it did the same thing. I can use the Acer with an external mouse, but not the track pad. Best Buy thinks it is an Acer software conflict. Thanks for trying

Possible Operating System corrupt when originally installed. Definitely software corruption of some type. These units are usually preloaded with an image that is used over and over. Sometimes they don't install properly. Last but not least air card may be defective if it causes ame issue again.

How to force an Apple computer to eject a stuck CD or DVD

Most of us have experienced it at least one, and if it hasn't happened to you yet, it's just a matter of time: a damaged CD, a failed DVD burn, or an unrecognized disc just won't eject from the Apple computer's disc drive. Here's a simple solution to force that stubborn CD out. Note: this tip requires a restart, so be sure to save any open files before proceeding.

(1) Save any open files and documents and quit all open programs.
(2) Click on the Apple icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select "Restart."
(3) Click the "Restart" button on the message box that pops up.
(4) As soon as the screen turns black, before the computer begins rebooting, click and hold down the mouse button. See step 4(a) for more details about this step.
(4a) If you have an older model trackpad, click and hold the trackpad button. If you have the new, button-less trackpad, click and hold down the trackpad itself. If you have a two-button mouse, click and hold down the left mouse button. If you have a wireless Bluetooth mouse, click and hold the left mouse button (though you may not have success with the MagicMouse; use a wired USB mouse if you have one available).
(5) Keep the mouse button held down until the CD/DVD media is auto-ejected from the drive.

If the CD still remains stuck in the drive, there is a more serious problem at work, and the assistance of an authorized Apple technician will likely be required.

you may have locked your trackpad, try FN+F7 to unlock the trackpad.. if that doesnt work you can try plugging in a usb mouse and re-installing your touchpad drivers.

Trackpad

What Windows version are you running? I would start by downloading the appropriate driver for your windows. This will replace any existing drivers. If it is a driver issue that should take care of it. If not it maybe an issue with your trackpad.

Mousepad on my toshiba m305-s4910 not working -usb dice working fine though

Maybe its disabled. Does it have a button right above or next to that trackpad that disables it?

Check in your control panel settings under mouse. Go to start>control panel>mouse. , then hardware tab. Then choose properties and driver tab. Make sure that drivers are installed.

If that doesnt work, install drivers for it again. Right click on my computer>manage>device manager. Right click on your mouse/trackpad under mice and other pointing devices and uninstall. Right click on your computer name on top and choose scan for hardware changes....that should do it.

Good luck

Suddenly my mouse and roller bar stopped working

Fn + F7 (or thereabouts)
Usually enables/diables built-in trackpad for those who use an external mouse but keep accidentally moving the built-in trackpad while typing.

My friend's touch pad on his Acer Aspire 5100 won't work. We've tried re-installing the driver but it still won't respond. Please help.

Try to clean around the edges of the trackpad with a can of compressed air, as sometimes gunk will form on the outside areas and will cause your trackpad to not work.

Jumping cursor

This is a really common problem thats not actually a problem.
Go to trackpad settings and make sure tap to click is off.
Most laptops allow you to tap the track pad to act as a mouse button, try it go to an icon tap the trackpad youll see that the icon highlights as if you are actually left clicking.
When your typing the trackpad senses your arm or wrist occasionaly and thinks your tapping the mouse, thus moving the cursor.
So go into trackpad settings and turn off tap to click.
