How do i install motorola docsis 3.0 cable modem.

After plugging in the cable from the cable company, plugging in the power cable and running an ethernet cable from the modem to the computer or router, you should be connected to the internet. You'll probably still need to contact the cable service provider since a new device will be attempting to connect to your service.

Here's a search that netted a few pdf manuals for similar devices:

Comcast cable says they don't update firmware. l have a SB6141 motorola DOCSIS 3.00 and l just upgraded to 105 mbps. l'm hardwired to my modem. l'm only getting 32 power level ?

You may need to enable IPV6. All Comcast modem updates are done automatically. I would contact ARRIS for additional assistance. Comcast also has a helpful online community.

SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 boosting the wifi signal

The SB6121 doesn't have WiFi, but I used a wifi extender (~$40-$80) to boost the wifi signal of my current wireless router that's attached to the SB6121.

Does the motorola sb6121 have a router built in?

Well, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by router, but I can tell you that it only has one physical ethernet port, not 3 or 4. It does have a built-in DHCP server, which means that if you have more than one computer connecting through it (using a wireless access point, for instance), it can assign each of them a separate IP address. I recently purchased a Netgear N600 Wireless router connected to my Comcast Motorola Surfboard SB5120 modem. I have a Comcast plan of 20 Mbps but through www.speedtest.net am consistently getting 8 Mbps...

I think its the modem that you need to upgrade. Comcast is already running on DOCSIS 3.0 system. The SB5120 modem that you have is a DOCSIS 2.0 modem. You may need to have your modem replaced with a DOCSIS 3.0 modem like the Motorola SB6120.

Will this work with Comcast broadband and Windows 7?

This modem will work with Comcast High Speed Internet.
You will have to contact Motorola for drivers for the Windows 7.

It does matter how fast your internet speed is,anything faster than 20meg,will need a Docsis 3.0 modem.
