Question about Ricoh Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Ricoh FT-4527, E541 error. I know that the hardware relating to this problem is the fuser, lamp, fuse or fluctuating voltage, but I don't know the key strokes to remove the error code after the part has been replace or where to get this information. Does anyone have a good Ricoh source for the FT-4527, codes, and processes to clear them? Thanks very much.

Thanks for the help with the copier, but I got it fixed over the phone, just by telling the user what to enter. I don't believe that he should have paid $130.00 for someone to just walk in the door and look at the copier. I'm a small PC/Equipment repair business, so I don't feel bad for the big, over priced guys. I have a tech friend that happens to work on copiers now, so he gave me the two missing code #s. It took 30 seconds to get the copier up and running once I had the correct numbers. The other option was to clean the waste toner from the thermistor which probably overheated when they moved it. If anyone needs help with the codes I have a sourse and would be happy to share my knowledge with them. I don't "cut my losses" easily, that's what makes me a good tech. It seems that sandmanmac needs to study up on his Ricoh copiers or stop giving copy machine advice.

....Nor do you have the parts. I answered you earlier today. If it were a simple fix/ adjustment I'd be happy to provide it. You need a trained technician, and only technicians will have the codes. You can find yourself in even bigger difficulty messing with service procedures that you know nothing about...cut your losses.

"Sandmanmac" has been a self-employed Ricoh tech for 13 years, and has provided solutions on hundreds of equipment problems here, as an act of good will. I do not not post 'service mode' adjustments on an 'END-USER' website, because that's "inappropriate" for the reasons stated above, nor am I about to take the time to write out specific instructions on how to remove and service a fuser unit. I gave the answer to the original question, which was in response to the "SC" number stated. My response to the FIRST POST was as follows:
"It is a fuser error (low warm up temp), often caused by fluctuating
voltage. You have a blown fuse, lamp, or thermistor. Can only be reset
in service mode after the problem is solved.

    It can be viewed here:
    http://www.fixya.com/support/t1779285-er...

I also stand by my reponse to the RE-POST, suggesting a technician was required. GREAT! You solved it over the phone via a 'technician"...I've done the same for dozens of my own clients too!

How do iremove error of code sc542(ricoh aficio 1515mf)

542 Fusing temperature warm-up error (center)
The fusing temperature rises less than 7 degrees in 2 seconds, and this continues 5 times consecutively. The fusing temperature is not detected in 25 or 35 seconds. • Fusing thermistor defective or out of position • Fusing lamp open • Power supply board defective
This is the reason for the error code according to (printcopy.info) Might help you in some way, but not my area of expertise.

Error sc542

SC542 is a fuser related error code, this will need to be reset.

Probable causes are:

• Defective thermistor
• Incorrect power supply input at the main power socket
• Defective fusing lamp

Corrective actions :
1. Check the voltage of the wall outlet.
2. Replace the fusing unit
3. Replace the fusing lamp.

Resetting the code:

Execute "Fuser SC Reset" with Some (printer models) or "Engine Maintenance Menu" (MF model) to recover the machine after completing the recovery procedure. Otherwise, the machine continues to issue this SC code and cannot be operated.

Reset error SC542

Because this is a fusing error and the fuser lamps use AC voltage, this repair is best left to a certified Ricoh tech.
Wouldn't want to start a fire.

Most fuser problems have to do with the fuser lamp and or the thermistor, or the thermal fuse. If you can put you hand near, and I did say near, because the fuser is very hot and can burn you, you should feel heat. Use an inferred thermometer to pick up heat. Should be around 225 degrees F +- a few degrees. If no heat detected the lamp is bad or is not receiving voltage. The thermistor detects heat from the fuser roller, it lays on it, and sends a signal to the logic to turn up the voltage to the lamp or turn it down. The thermal fuse could be open hence not voltage to the lamp. Last but not least no power from power supply or no signal from logic board to turn up the juice. Hope that helps.

Error code E541

Ricoh Copier Error Code SC 541 is Fusing thermistor open problem

1. This is Open Thermistor problem

2. Thermistor connector is bad.

3. Thermistor is broken, or out of place

4. Fusing temperature -15% less than the regular input voltage

Might be a one time failure you can reset. Access service mode and reset the code then power copier off & on again. If problem goes away your good. If not.....time to replace the fuser.

ERROR CODE E-5 HELP RICOH 4522

If you press the "." key you will get the last 2 digits to complete the error message. For example: "E542".
Whatever the result, 'E5xx' is always related to a fuser error; That means, you have a blown fuse, lamp, or thermistor, and the problem, and the service code can only be reset by a technician in service mode after the fault is fixed.

I have a RICOH FT 4022 copier and it displays E 5 error code. It does not allow copying. I have checked the fuser unit and its ok. What could be the problem? Do I need a reset code to solve it and where do...

The E5 code is the fuser malfunction error.
E52 fusing lamp warm up error.Possible causes thermistor open, heater lamp open, thermofuse open.
E53 fusing lamp overheat.Thermistor in shortcircuit
E55 fusing thermistor open
When service call E5 conditions occur they cannot be cleared by turning OFF/ON the power switch. To reset turn ON the main switch, turn DIP switch 101-1 ON and OFF(the DIP switch is located in rear part under main supply board).,and turn the main switch OFF and ON.
