I have a Lenovo Y510 that will NOT shut off or do anything it is completely frozen .. I tried to hit ctrl alt delete all at once nothing happened still frozen any suggestions???

Try holding the power button down for several seconds. Or disconnect the power (pull the plug or remove battery). When you turn it back on, it will probably tell you that you didn't shut it down properly and hopefully you've saved whatever you were working on.

I bought a used Dell P2211H widescreen monitor and it did not come with the driver disk- i am connecting it to a lenovo ibm thinkpad x61s - will it be compatiable and which drivers do i need to...

Hi,
Generally, no drivers are needed. All you have to do is adjust the resolution of you PC from display properties after connecting the LCD as External Monitor.
Thinkpad X61S has Intel X3100 Graphics which supports the maximum analog output of 2048x1536
Whereas Dell Dell P2211H supports high-definition resolution up to 1920x1080 Max. So, I think that you can connect Dell P2211H with your PC.
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

X61s no power. No lights when plugged in.using new correct charger

The problem may be the DC jack in the laptop, plug the power supply in and put your hand on the DC jack and slowly apply pressure sideways "not to hard" and at the same time press the power button repeatedly to see if it will start, if yes! the DC jack in the laptop needs to be resold-ed back on the motherboard or replaced. Now! if there is no change I recommend a computer technician look at the system with an estimate in mind.

Sound Device Missing? I have an IBM Thinkpad X61s

Hi, you can do a better search using the product # from under the laptop on IBM's website instead of x61s, I think you need to remove or update the driver with the device manager, here is a link to some X61s drivers, try the chipset one first, you may need the HD audio patch too. post the product# and I'll search for it.

I get Error 173 and 163 when I start my thinkpad. What can I do?

The Thinkpad POST error code you are getting are :-
163 - CMOS error, clock is not updating
175 - Bad EEPROM CRC
This is caused by either a faulty EEPROM chip or a flat CMOS battery.
Replacing the CMOS battery and go into the CMOS/BIOS configuration and set the Date and Time etc.
If the problem is still there then it is a motherboard problem and depending upon the age of the laptop it may not be worth repairing.
